I do love Killian. He makes me happy. He makes me laugh. And our sex is out of this world. The reason I’m having doubts about my relationship, is because I never let Liam go. The ‘what if’ plays too strongly in my mind when I try to cut him off.

Having him around me these last few weeks has been torture. After our night in the hot tub, I did everything to keep myself busy. I couldn’t allow myself to slip up around him.

The problem is his energy is magnetic, tugging on mine, even from behind closed doors. It’s like he is there when he isn’t. I tried music to drown out thoughts of him, but it just made me want him even more.What a mess we’ve gotten ourselves into.

“Are you drinkingtequila?” Mik asks me as we approach the table. Liam takes a seat next to me. Mikayla looks over at him and then back at me for a response.

“Yeah, tequila sounds good right about now,” I sigh. Tonight I’ll enjoy just one night without stopping myself from pining over him.

“I’ll have one as well.” Liam grabs a shot glass and holds it up.

“You’re actually drinking with us tonight?” His eyes answer my question. What I see there sets my chest on fire way more than the tequila will.

“Like I said,” he leans down to whisper in my ear, “tonight isallfor you.”

I clench my legs together, feeling the desire build at his words. He smirks, knowing his effect on me, and raises his glass to the group.

“To Madison, the girl we alllove. You worked your arse off to get here. We are so proud of you. Cheers to being the smartest andhottestnurse around,” he chuckles.

I almost didn’t take the shot like everyone else as I processed his words. My sister and Lexi shoot me a knowing look. I throw my shot back and grab a lime off the table, letting it soothe the inferno in my chest.

“One more!” Leah shrieks, already pouring everyone another round.

Why the hell not?

I take my shot, and Liam slips the lime between my lips.Damn. This man is putting me in a dangerous position. I remove his hand from my lips to grab the rind.He needs to behave. We are in Killian’s club. Not to mention everyone is watching us.

Liam stands and walks over to Lexi to chat about Conor. Carly is already off talking to Colin. Leah and Mikayla waste no time plopping their asses on either side of me.

“How’s Killian?” Mik asks.

“I wouldn’t know. He’s away on business,” I say matter of factly.

Leah interjects. “Um…okay so Killian is gone…onbusiness…and Liam is…”

“My bodyguard for the night,” I finish for her.

Leah grabs both my shoulders to look me dead in the eyes. “Don’t play coy with me, Maddy. What are youthinking? You told me Liam is Killian’s brother. So what the hell are you going to do when Killian finds out you two are secretly pining for each other?”

“We aren’t.” I shrug, feeling bad about lying to their faces.

“I don’t buy that,” my sister chimes in.

“Me either.” Leah shakes her head. “You could cut your sexual tension with a knife. Anyone can see it.”

I flip my hair with my hand, then pour myself a cranberry, club, vodka, and lime. I chug my drink, needing to cool myself off.The girls have me in the fucking hot seat. The back-to-back shots are working their way through my system. I am already feeling it and more than ready to let loose.

“Let’s dance.” I stand, pulling my too-short dress down. Liam turns to look at me. The way he’s staring makes me feel like I’m wearing nothing at all.

Lexi runs over and grabs my arm. “Yes! I’m in.”

“I’ll be watching you from up here,” Liam whispers in my ear. His hand glides down my arm before giving my hand a gentle squeeze. Goosebumps flare up at his touchandhis words.

The girls are dancing and singing in a circle on the dancefloor. The bass is bumping, and the crowd is thick, with others doing the same. Some couples make their way upstairs to the VIP suites, which makes me curious. What is in the other rooms I haven’t seen yet? Sweat drips down my chest and into my cleavage. I fan myself, cursing my choice of a leather dress and boots.

The girls and I take two more tequila shots at the downstairs bar and then return to our wild dancing.I feel so alive right now.My body hums, and all my worries have vanished. I let the music guide my moves, surrounded by my favorite people. Conor pops into the crowd, and Lexi’s face fills with surprise and excitement.

“Hey, Lex.” He pulls her in for a kiss. They start separating from the crowd to make out back at our table. Mik, Leah, and Carly went off to do another shot. I don’t want to be sick, so I declined. I look up to the balcony for Liam, but he isn’t there.
