Raising my hands in question, I say, “I don’t know, dig through your suitcase like a normal person?”
“That’s a no from me.” She points both her thumbs back on herself. “We’ll come back and get organized.” I always thought I was an organized person, and then I met Addie and realized I am not.
“How exciting.” I put on the flattest smile I have.
The walk to the beach is short, and Addie takes off the second her toes touch the sand. She takes turns hopping on each foot to grab her flip flops. Her sundress ripples in the wind. Good news, if she ever gets chased by a bear, she can, in fact, run.
Her feet touch the water and she turns to look at me. The smile on her face could make my heart stop. I don’t have to wonder what Addie is feeling, almost ever. Every emotion is written on her face like a little map to her heart. And right now? My girl is feeling nothing but joy. Which makes me want to run. Be closer.
I slip off my sandals and join her in the water. She’s made her way knee-deep, the water lapping at the hem of her dress. I grab her hand and pull her to me. Her hands wrap around my neck, and I can’t fight the idea that comes. I pick her up, and like a reflex, she wraps her legs around me.
I start to move, and she immediately knows where I am going with this. “Sam, no. We’re going to get drenched. Let me take off my dress.” She looks over her shoulder as the water starts to climb up to my waist.
“It’ll dry.” I walk us deeper into the water. She tries to climb up me higher, but it’s a waste. Her laugh fills my ears as I fall backward with her wrapped around me. If her laugh is the last thing I hear, I could die a happy man.
Chapter Thirty-Eight
Addie
The ocean laps at our ankles from where we walk. We spent the entire day running around the coasts of Oahu. Warmth fills me, mostly from the sun that is slowly starting to set. The wind blows by, and I catch a whiff of hibiscus flower. If I could bottle the smell of the breeze here and turn it into a candle, I would. Every other Hawaiian candle I own doesn’t do it justice.
With the sun beginning to set, Sam and I find our place on a quiet spot on the beach. Leaning back in between Sam’s legs, I snuggle in closer. Watching the waves roll in over the rocks, I feel myself getting more and more relaxed. I can’t remember the last time I felt this free.
Someone must want to do things other than relax because I feel hands start to roam around my torso, lighting a little fire inmy core. His fingers lightly drift lower and brush over the seam where my thigh meets my hips. I want to turn into him to get some friction. His soft chuckle rumbles behind me. I’m glad he’s enjoying driving me mad.
I turn to straddle him instead. If he’s going to play dirty, I want a fair playing field. To the innocent eye, we just look like an in-love couple, but the way my hips grind against him as I settle in and get comfortable makes us both have to bite back small moans.
“How do you feel about getting out of here?” I whisper into Sam’s ear. He shudders slightly at the feel of my breath on his neck.
“Like I’ve been waiting all day to get you naked.”
I smile as his hand finds mine. “I was wearing a bikini the majority of the day.”
“Still too many clothes. If those tits aren’t bare and in my face, there’s still too much.” He play bites at the top of my breast and I hop off him so fast. Turns out, I’m just as hungry for him.
We get back to the hotel and my sandals struggle to stay on my feet as I get dragged down hallways, smiling sheepishly at those who pass. We find the closest elevator and Sam hits the button one-hundred times, like that will help. His hand wraps around my waist and it doesn’t take long for it to start to wander. His touch sets me aflame, and I find myself hitting the up arrow a million times, as well.
The elevator dings and the doors slide open. Sam grabs my hand and hits the button to close it. The door no more than closes and his body is on mine.
“Fuck. You in this dress, it’s been killing me all damn day.”
My hands can’t help themselves and begin to wander, too. My palm grazes the front of his pants and his hips buck up. His hand encloses over mine. I have half a mind to be mindful of potentialcameras, but honestly, fuck it. The benefits of having a flowy and beachy dress to hide where his hands are.
“If you keep doing that, I’m going to come in my pants.”
“So?” My smile must have devilish intentions written all over it.
“Playing dirty tonight, huh? You know I like playing dirty with you.” If it was possible to come off words alone, this man can do it. It’s not even what he says, it’s how he says it. “This little slit up your thigh has been making me insane, but it does have good uses.” His hands slide into the slit, where he grips behind my knee and pulls my leg around his hip.
My eyes close as his lips brush against my neck, and goosebumps break out across my body. Fucking finally. His knuckle grazes across my swimsuit, just enough to add some pressure to my clit.
“You have got to be fucking kidding me right now.” My eyes fly open because I know that voice and that voice was not with us when we got in the elevator. “Seriously? What is it with you boys and public spaces? The room is literally seconds away.”
My head whips around, and there stands Liv, with her hands covering her eyes. My leg slowly drops from Sam’s hip, and I quickly put some distance between us with a baby shove to his chest. Which has him bouncing off the side wall.
Sorry, I mouth to him as he gets his footing. He shoots me a look best described aswhat the fuck?
“Is it safe? Are everyone’s baby-making parts and boobs covered?” She peeks through her fingers and drops her hands to her side when she realizes we are no longer intertwined.
