It’s going to break her.

It’s going to rip me apart seeing her so torn up by this fucker. But I love her enough to do it.

If she loved him, then regardless of who he was and what he’s done, I have to respect it.

Because I love her.

Nothing will ever change that.

“Sure. I’ll bring her by in a few hours, if that’s okay. This is Savannah Sinclair’s wedding. She’s her bridesmaid.”

“Jesus, really?” the cop asks, glancing around. There are a few celebrities here and I see his eyes widening.

“Prefer if you keep that quiet. We don’t want any media showing up.”

“It will hit the news, eventually.”

“Yeah, I know.” I sigh. Ryder is going to be pissed as hell. So will his new wife.

“Best I can do is a couple of hours.” He shrugs. “You know how it is.”

I do.

And this is Hollywood, baby. The fact we pulled this off without a leak is a goddamn miracle.

“Give me two hours and I’ll bring her down to the station.” I say and glance over my shoulders. Seriously, my team deserves a raise for keeping Briar away for this long.

“We’ll see you then. And hey, good work. This guy has been wanted for a long damn time,” the cop says.

Josh walks over as the LAPD vehicles drive off.

“So. You going to get your girl now?”

Not my girl.

“Something like that.” I mutter and slap him on the shoulder as I turn. Then head to the women’s restrooms to find her. “Something like that.”

––––––––

TEN MINUTES LATER I’mstriding back through the guests, beelining it for Ryder and Savannah.

“Where is she?” I demand.

Savannah startles. “Who?”

“Briar!” I yell.

“Hey.” Ryder steps in front of me and puts his hand up. “Calm the fuck down.”

I rake my hand through my hair and explain that I can’t find her anywhere.

“Oh, my god. Where is she?” Savannah asks.

“Gone.” Josh walks up, holding up his phone. “Climbed out the window.”

Fuck!
