He rolls his eyes in frustration. “Don’t give me that. I know whatever it is you did to get that world class athlete to spend time with you this week could come back to bite you.”

“You doubt it was my dazzling, handsome face that did it?” I narrow my gaze. I’m far from ugly.

Not to mention Dae and I look uncannily alike for being mere cousins. But that could be because our fathers were identical twins.

“No, but I do know this is the same woman who turned you down months ago. I know, in fact, since you bitched about it for so long because you’re so damn used to getting what you want that you couldn’t imagine a woman you’re interested in turning you down.”

“You make it sound like I’m a spoiled brat. I know what I want and I go after it.” I poke his chest with my finger. “A trait that’s served us both well over the years, I might add.”

He nods only after he smacks my hand away.

“I also know you’re not above using somewhat unethical methods to get your way.”

“Says the man who had a tracker installed on Kennedy’s phone, hired private investigators to track her movements, and threatened her boyfriends before ever even formally meeting her.”

He gives me a small smirk. “It’s exactly for this reason I’m warning you. We’re cut from similar cloth. Whatever it is you’re holding over her head, just make sure it doesn’t come back to bite either one of you in the ass.”

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were concerned for my well-being.” I press my palm against my chest. “I’m touched, cousin.”

“Saekki,” he says, calling me a bastard in Korean. “I’m only advising you because if you upset Tania, you run the chance ofupsetting my wife this Christmas, and for that I’d have to kick your ass.”

“Why are you threatening your cousin before you’ve even had breakfast?” Kennedy asks, coming up behind Dae while holding Kylie, her six-month-old niece.

Dae kisses her forehead before pulling her into his arms. Baby and all. “Just warning my cousin to keep his mind focused on what matters.”

I snort. “Like I’m the one who ever loses focus.” I take little Kylie’s extended hand and wiggle it, making her laugh. “Cute kid.” I glance between the two of them. “You two should consider having one.”

With that, I leave the two of them and make my way over to Tania.

Though I don’t show it, I can’t shake his warning about not having what I’m holding over Tania coming back to bite either one of us in the ass.

CHAPTER 11

Tania

“It’s been almost an hour and Liza hasn’t called me,” I say as we enter Taehyun’s cabin. Then I freeze.

“Maybe she’s busy.”

I hear the door close behind me, but I’m too focused on the packages that lie in front of me to even notice his response about Liza.

“What is all of this?” I ask as my eyes roam over the boxes and packages—most unopened—of what look like Christmas decorations.

“What does it look like?” he answers in his typical smartass fashion.

I slap his arm as he moves past me. “Why are there so many decorations here? And why are they just spread out in your living room?”

“Because I told the staff that I’d be the one to put them up.” He comes to stand before me. “Well, I was hoping to have a little help.”

“Me?”

He nods as he unzips my jacket and tosses my useless crutch to the side.

“There’s no one else I’m sharing my cabin with this week,” he tells me as he removes my coat.

I heel-toe off the snow boots I wore to breakfast.

“You said your favorite part of the holidays was decorating your house.”
