Chapter Twenty-Five
Jo
Sophie had gone all out with Juniper. They’d had a whole princess night. She’d brought books and movies and even a purple sparkly dress for Juniper to wear that she’d refused to take off and was now sleeping in.
“I decided to choose my battles and I wasn’t going to fight that one,” Sophie said when we got back.
Both Larison and I were moving slow from the massages, but I had plans to get her naked and make her fuck me slowly. Let her call me a good girl and make me plead for her to let me come. Letting Larison edge me was my new favorite activity even if I hated her a little for it.
“Smart woman,” Larison said, hugging Sophie and thanking her.
“It’s still early enough so I’m heading to Sapph. Reid’s working and I think she could use a distraction.” She wiggled her eyebrows and went to the bathroom to change into a skintight dress that I knew Reid was going to love.
“Oh, she’s going to lose her mind,” I said when Sophie came out. She giggled. “I know. Have a good night, you two.”
Sophie waved and left us with a quiet apartment.
“I wish we could have brought those robes with us, not going to lie,” Larison said while we got ready for bed after checking on Juniper.
“Those robes were seriously soft. I’ll check and see if they sell them online. Or maybe we can go back and steal them.”
I’d started to unbutton my shirt, but Larison pushed my hands aside to take over.
“You look so good. I could barely keep my hands off you.” Her fingers worked slowly and I wanted to tell her to hurry, but I knew what she was doing. Larison liked to tease and I enjoyed letting her.
“Do you have any plans for our second date?” I asked
She looked up from the last button as she pushed my shirt off my shoulders and down my arms.
“Our first one isn’t over yet.”
She pushed me to sit on the bed and got on her knees to pull my pants slowly off my legs.
We had all night and she was going to make me work for it.
Larison threw my pants to the other side of the room and looked up at me. I ran my fingers through her hair and sighed.
“I love you.”
The words just slipped right out of my mouth. As if they’d been waiting for their moment and my tongue hadn’t been paying attention.
Her eyes flew wide.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t…I mean, I did mean it, but I didn’t mean to say it like this.” I’d planned to do something more dramatic. Not when we were taking our clothes of before we had sex.
But now the words were out, and I couldn’t reel them back.
“It’s too soon and I don’t expect you to say it back—” Larison put her palm against my mouth to stop me. That was usuallyonly something she did when she was worried that I’d wake up Juniper.
“I love you too. I realized it, I guess, tonight at the table. That was why I was a little distracted. I’ve felt that way for a while, but it really hit me. So. I love you, Josephine.”
She removed her hand and gazed up at me.
“Come here,” I said, pulling her onto the bed with me.
Our mouths met fiercely and tenderly as we showed each other how we felt after saying the words. It didn’t matter if it was fast or too soon or any of those things. This was right for us.
“I love you,” I said the second our lips weren’t touching.
