And I do. I come hard, my body convulsing, my screams of pleasure filling the room. Davrik follows soon after, his release shuddering through him, his cock pulsing inside of me.
We rest for a moment, our bodies pressed together, our breaths ragged and labored. I can feel his heart pounding against my back, his chest heaving with exertion.
"That was..." I start, but I can't find the words to finish.
Davrik smiles against my neck. "Yeah," he agrees. "We need a shower"
I step into the shower, the warm water cascading over my aching muscles. Davrik follows, his tall frame filling the space behind me. His hands slide around my waist, pulling me back against his chest.
"Let me help you with that," he murmurs, taking the soap from my hands. His fingers work methodically, massaging my shoulders as he washes away the sweat and grime.
"Mmm," I lean back into his touch. "Who knew you could be so gentle?"
"I contain multitudes." His laugh rumbles through his chest. "Though I must admit, this is a first for me too."
I turn to face him, running my hands over his chest. The water makes his blue skin glisten, highlighting every defined muscle. "You're beautiful," I whisper, tracing a pattern across his pectorals.
"Says the woman who looks like starlight made flesh." His fingers trail down my spine, leaving goosebumps in their wake.
We wash each other slowly, exploring every curve and angle with soap-slicked hands. There's nothing sexual about it now - just pure intimacy. The kind I never thought I'd find out here on this remote planet.
"I never thought I'd feel this peaceful," I admit, resting my head against his chest. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat mingles with the patter of water.
His arms tighten around me. "Neither did I."
We stand there under the warm spray, holding each other, neither of us wanting to move. For the first time since I arrived on Meltor IV, I feel completely, utterly at home.
CHAPTER 14
DAVRIK
The soldering iron trembles in my hand as I make another connection. Sweat trickles down my neck, and I brush it away with my shoulder. The ship's console lies gutted before me, wires and circuit boards scattered across the deck.
"Come on, you stubborn piece of..." I touch the iron to another connection point. The smell of burning metal fills my nose.
My mind drifts to Alice, out there collecting her samples. The mate bond pulses stronger each day, urging me to stay close, to protect her. To tell her everything. The thought of her finding out what really goes on in my work makes my stomach turn.
A spark jumps from the connection, and I jerk back. "Shit!"
The burn barely registers. I've had worse. Much worse. But none of those injuries felt as painful as lying to her.
That damn bond is going to undo me.
I make the final connection and hold my breath as I power up the system. The console flickers once, twice...
"Systems online. Running diagnostics." Navi's familiar voice fills the cockpit. "Hello, Davrik. You look terrible."
"Thanks." I wipe my hands on my pants. "Good to have you back."
"Accessing damage reports. Hull integrity at twenty-seven percent. Primary engines offline. Secondary?—"
"I know all that. What I need is your opinion on something else."
"The human female you've been copulating with?"
I nearly drop the soldering iron. "How did you?—"
"My sensors may have been offline, but my memory banks were intact. I recorded your activities in the cargo hold. And in the station gymnasium. And on the couch?—"
