Chapter 4
Griffin
The pieceof wood slices in two as the impact from the ax reverberates up my arms. I toss the pieces into the ever-growing pile on my right. I’ve been out here since sunrise, unable to sleep. Every time I close my eyes, I see her perfect fucking body, soft hips, curved waist, and luscious fucking tits. She gives me that sweet, shy smile, and I’m done for. I’ll never get the sound of her out of my head as Cole made her scream over and over again. I should never have picked the room beside theirs, but I couldn’t bring myself to change it. Not when my cock was rock hard in my hand, listening to them. Sleep became impossible, even after they stopped.
I swing my arms down in an arc, and the wood easily splinters under the sharpened blade of the ax.
I came out here this morning to try to clear my head, some physical labor to work away my thoughts. Sweat forms on my brow. It feels like I’m burning from the inside out, and I pull off my shirt, the cold a distant worry, and wipe my face with it.
Footsteps come up beside me, and Cole stands a piece of wood on the stump beside me.
“Morning.” Even though he’s not looking at me, he’s wearing a mischievous smirk, and his voice is teasing.
Another piece of wood splinters beneath my ax, and I reply with a grunt. “Morning.”
This kid’s the reason I haven’t slept, and he knows it. “I could hear you last night.”
He chuckles as he sets up another log. “I know. I made her scream just for you.”
“It fucking worked. I haven’t jerked off like that since I was your age.” I groan, adjusting my jeans. “I’m fucking still hard.” I can’t escape the images of how her sweet little mouth would have looked making those sounds for him. How she’d feel pressed between us, taking us at the same time. Would her nails dig into my back as she screamed our names? The thought is entirely too addictive. Once I start, I’m not sure I can stop.
I chop another piece, my muscles burning as I ask, “You think she’s the one?”
“I do. I love her.”
Two years ago, Cole walked in on me fucking someone and freaked the fuck out. I couldn’t make sense of it at first. Sure, it was awkward, but we were both adults by then. It wasn’t until she was gone and he came home piss drunk that I understood. He didn’t want any girl to come between us. At first, I didn’t understand. It’s not like we were going to be celibate, and no matter how much he’s grown, I’m not interested in fucking my own son. When I’d pulled back and told him it was never going to happen, he gripped my arms, yelling at me to listen. He didn’t want us to be a couple. He wanted to find a girl to sharebetweenus. To become a part of our family. Integrated just as much as we are. Someone who fits perfectly, like a puzzle piece that solidifies our life forever. A sick, twisted, perverted part of me liked that idea entirely too much. Someone we could both cherish, who could fill that deep void that exists in both of us. If he says Eve can be that girl, I can’t deny I want it, but not at the expense of Cole’s happiness.
He turns to me, raising a brow. “Don’t lie to me and tell me you’re not interested.”
When did he start reading me so easily? “I am.”
“Alright, let’s move forward.”
There’s a spark in his eyes, an excitement I haven’t seen in a long time. He really cares for this girl. I can see why. It’s only been a day, and I can already feel myself falling under her spell.
“You said you love her? This can easily blow up in our faces. We’re asking a lot from her. Are you willing to risk losing her? Are you really prepared to lose someone you love?”
He drops his ax to the ground and rubs his hands over his face, then through his hair. He looks miserable when he responds. “If she leaves, then she wasn’t the right one to begin with.”
“You know I’ll be okay if you choose her. You don’t have to do this just because we agreed. It’s not some kind of blood pact.”
“Fuck off. I saw the way she was looking at you. I’m pretty sure she was picturing you last night by the way she sucked on my fingers like you were fucking her mouth.”
I groan, my cock painfully hard. If he keeps saying shit like that, I won’t be able to control myself. We don’t want to scare her away. “We can’t approach this head-on. She needs to have time to get used to it.”
“It’s about time you came around. This is the only type of family I want, and I know she’ll be game. I’m telling you she’s meant for us. She just needs to get to know you a bit.”
“Get back to work.” I cut wood until my arms burn and sweat rolls down my back. The more I think about it, the more I think Cole’s right. She’s the one for us.
Chapter 5
Eve
The deep aromaof coffee fills my nose as I step out of my room. I rolled over only to find Cole wasn’t there. Instead, he’d tucked the blankets around me. A quick glance at the clock tells me I slept in way later than usual.
Making my way into the kitchen, I pour myself a coffee, eyes still half-closed when I glance out the window, my mouth instantly dropping open.
Cole and Griffin are out there chopping wood…shirtless. Snow is all around them, but sweat still runs down their flexing muscles. They move in unison as they chop through each piece, filling the enormous pile beside them. From the look of it, they’ve been out there for hours. My mouth waters so much I’m surprised I’m not drooling. I can’t take my eyes off either man. I should feel guilty looking at Griffin when Cole’s right there, but there’s something about the two of them being so close together that has heat pooling between my thighs. My knees nearly give out when they toss their axes and Griffin pulls Cole into a side hug. I spin around before I do something stupid and hold myself up with a hand against the counter. I don’t think I could live through seeing that again.
