“Yes, Emily is her name. She lives in Buttercup Valley on a farm. Her mom and my mom were cousins.”

“I mean you’re not her.” He grins, but he can’t stop laughing.

“Share the joke.” Skye leans forward and grins. “I want to laugh as well.”

“It’s Juniper's joke to share.” Remington leans back and I give him a look as I feel his hand on my thigh sliding up. “Tell them darling.”

“Well, I shouldn’t....” I realize everyone is listening and waiting for my story now. “But it’s about a cousin of mine. She’s around my age, but has four older protective brothers and has lived in a small town her whole life.”

“What happened?” Lila’s face is lit up, like she can’t wait for the rest of the story.

“Well, she called me for advice last week. Turns out she decided she wanted to add some excitement to her life, so she started seeing this one guy.” I pause, feeling slightly guilty for telling my friends the story.

“What’s wrong with that?” Skye asks.

“Nothing at all. It was some secret relationship with some older guy.” I shrug. “From all accounts and purposes he’s gorgeous and extremely rich.”

“Sounds good to me.” Elisabetta grins and I see Liam giving her side eye.

“So she’s really feeling like Carrie Bradshaw, living her best life. She ends up hooking up with this older hot guy, having the hottest sex of her life, but neither one of them was looking for anything else, supposedly.”

“Uh huh,” Skye laughs. “Sure thing.”

“So she also started dating this younger guy, nothing serious and no sex or anything. Just to get her brothers and parents off of her case when she went to hang out with her secret lover.”

“This is where it gets good.” Remington chuckles.

“What happened?” Lila is super invested.

“Well, she and her older lover ended up having sex at some bar.” I shake my head. “While she was hanging out with friends...anyway, they got caught...” I pause dramatically. “And then the truth comes out...”

“What’s the truth?” Elisabetta leans forward.

“She was dating a father and son.” I giggle. “Older hot guy was the dad of the younger guy she was seeing casually. And had no clue. And it came out in the absolute craziest way.” I shake my head. “And now the older guy wants to marry her to save her reputation or something.”

“It’s absolutely crazy.” Remington adds. “Didn’t she call you last night saying he wanted her to sign a contract and wanted you to read it because you work at a law firm?”

“Yes,” I nod. “She’s sending it to me next week. I told her Remington will review it.”

“So she’s going to marry him?” Lila looks shocked.

“Not sure yet.” I shrug. “I think she’s a bit of a hot mess, to be honest. I love her, but there’s even more she told me about her situation that made my jaw drop.” I giggle slightly. “Guess some crazy shit goes down in small towns.”

“Should we move to a small town when we get married?” Remington asks me and I shake my head. “Or you’d rather stay here?”

“I want us to stay here.” I beam at him. I love it when he talks about our future.

“Then stay here, we shall.” He grabs my hand. “I am so excited to share forever with you, Juniper. I love you so much.”

“I love you too.”

“Oh get a room, you two.” Liam jumps up and shakes his head. “Next round is on me. What does everyone want?”

“A good night of sex and ice cream.” Elisabetta responds with a giggle. He raises his eyebrows and smirks.

“I can arrange both of those things.” He winks at her and I see his eyes on her breasts. She shakes her long hair and stands up. “Right now, if you want.”

“I don’t want.” She smirks and looks down at the table. “I’m headed to the restroom.”
