Joey rested his palm over her heart, wanting to feel it race.

Miles withdrew after a few moments, heading to the bathroom to wash up. Joey followed suit, cleaning up after himself as promised.

Lucy remained in bed, her seemingly endless energy finally zapped. She lifted one hand toward them when they returned to the bedroom, but it fell back to the mattress heavily.

“How about an afternoon nap?” she suggested sleepily. “I haven’t been…”

Joey crawled into bed next to her. “I’ve been sleeping like shit too.”

“Ditto,” Miles said as he reclaimed his side, the three of them cuddling under the covers.

Lucy placed her head on Joey’s chest, wiggling her ass in a not-so-subtle hint for Miles to spoon her.

Joey sighed as a wave of pure joy washed through him, taking him down like a goddamn tsunami. Lucy had promised him the Storms were a force of nature, and there was no denying their little blonde tornado had cut a wide swath through them both, straight to their hearts.

Exchanging a glance with Miles, he could tell his friend felt exactly the same way. They shared a smile, Joey’s wink prompting Miles to roll his eyes.

He placed a kiss on the top of Lucy’s head, thinking she’d already fallen asleep. He was surprised when she lifted her head slightly.

“I love you,” she whispered to him, before turning her head to offer Miles the same three words.

Life. Made.
