Page 102 of Beast: Part Two

He follows behind me, erupting inside me with a loud groan. He pulls out and backs away from me. His cock is soaked in my essence and the two orgasms I’ve had.

Lowering my leg back to the ground, I turn to face Gabriel. He tucks his dick back in his boxers and then takes a seat on the side of the tub. Walking over to him, I stand between his legs. He places his forehead against my belly.

“Better?” I ask, raking my fingers through his long hair.

It took me only a short time to realize this sex isn’t about me. It’s Gabriel’s way of grieving. The moment he starts to think about Priest or more importantly, the day Priest died, he tries to run from the memory with my body.

It’s only a temporary fix. He and I both know it, but I won’t complain. Getting a dick down is never a bad thing. Plus, I will do anything to ease his pain, even if only for a short time.

Gabriel wraps his arms around my thighs, rubbing his hands up and down the bare skin.

“I just can’t get it out of my head. One moment I’m good and the next I see him standing there before Victoria’s gun goes off.”

“Look at me,” I say.

He lifts his head and looks up at me. “It’s going to take time. You lost your father. And unlike the others, you actually witnessed the moment he was taken away from you. It’s normal to replay it in your head, but you can’t let it devour you. Priest wouldn’t want that.”

He grabs my hand and pulls it away from his head and places a kiss on my palm.

“You have been my rock, angel.”

This is the sweetest thing he could have said to me. I love this man, and I love he loves me, but him telling me I’m his rock lets me know that he’s seeing our relationship as something he wants to stick around for. He’s finally seeing me as his partner and not just someone to protect.

“We should shower and head to the dining room.” He stands and I take a step back.

“You just want to fuck again,” I joke.

He looks at me and smirks. “Maybe.”

We have another quick round in the shower before getting dressed. After dressing, we make our way into the dining room after grabbing some of Malia’s blueberry muffins.

“Morning, everyone,” I say.

Hawk and Brooklyn are here, along with Many, Ari, Fem, Maksim, Zel and Kyra.

“Morning,” they all repeat in unison.

I take a seat across from Ari. Gabriel goes over to Maksim and Albany who are standing in front of the whiteboard. Not long after, Lucien and Malia walk into the room. Malia takes a seat beside me while Lucien goes over to the laptop near the head of the table.

“Still no word from Seth,” I lean over and whisper to Malia.

We have not seen or heard from Seth since the day in that hospital room. Yes, I know technically Seth and Lucien are the same person, but I’m still used to seeing Seth walk around the house.

Malia shakes her head. “I’m starting to get worried. Lucien keeps telling me to not stress, it isn’t good for the baby, but this isn’t like Seth.”

“Is there a possibility he won’t come back?”

Malia explained that something traumatic happened to Lucien when he was a kid and that’s how Seth was born. She didn’t tell me what exactly happened, and I didn’t need to know.

She looks at me and her brown eyes turn down. “I hope not. I love Lucien and he is more than enough for me, but I don’t think I could live without Seth.”

It sounded crazy, but I understood what she meant. Seth was an entirely different person from Lucien. She loved them both.

“Hopefully, he isn’t gone forever, and he’ll come back.”

She smiles weakly as she turns to look at a disheveled Lucien. “I sure hope so.”

“All right,” Fem says. “We’re all here.”
