But his hands disappeared. He cleared his throat, but his voice sounded deeper than usual. “We should probably move back to the kitchen table to work.”

She followed him back, floating a little above the ground from the sensual experience and reminding herself again that they weren't teenagers anymore. That this attraction was 100% allowed, and no parent would bust in on them.

Her phone chimed. She ignored it, but he picked it up off the counter to hand to her. A text message from Drew.

I had a great night. Are you busy next Friday?

An unreadable maskslipped over Hudson's face.

If it bothered him, if he'd even read it, he didn't say a word. Opening the book to the amortization page, he tapped his finger there. “Why don't you try reading it aloud?”

She didn’t care about Drew. Only Hudson, but if he could ignore the attraction between them, she could too. “I don't like reading out loud.”

“It might help.”

“I'll get frustrated.” She opted not to answer the text and set her phone to the side. His eyes rested on it for a moment.

With a loud sigh, he leaned back. “Let's play another game. There are a couple parts to a loan. What are they?”

She crossed her arms. “Rate, principal, and interest.”

“Simply put, yes. A part of each payment goes to principal, and the other part goes to interest.”

“I got that part.” His knee brushed hers under the table. He didn't pull away. Neither did she. Major distraction. She focused even harder on his questions.

He pointed to the book. “The amortization of a loan is a table that has how much each payment is made of interest and how much is made up of principal. The amount of the principal, the original loan amount, will be less than the total amount you pay.”

“Because of the interest.”

He shifted to face her, resting his hands on her knees. “That’s right.”

It shouldn't have been a big deal. Her flannel pajama pants had small teddy bears on them and were the farthest thing from sexy. But those hands touching her were too good to ignore.

She licked her lips to wet them. If only he’dfinallymake a move and put them both out of their misery.

His brooding gaze flicked down for a moment before locking back with hers.

The attraction between them flared. He squeezed her knees lightly before sliding up an inch. He watched her, no doubt waiting for her to tell him to stop. But she wouldn't.

He slid them up another few inches, the darkness in his eyes, making her breath quicken.

God, she loved his hands on her.

Her phone chimed.

He blinked twice as if the trance between them was broken. Damn it.

He picked it up and did what she would have done.

He read it before passing it to her.

The remaining hand on her leg disappeared.

“Here.” He scooted back from the table as he handed her the phone. “I'll see you Monday night. Come ready to learn.”

She didn't try to stop him from leaving. Something caused such a sudden shift. What could Drew have possibly said?

Becky's head hit the table when she read the text.
