“And what is wrong with giving in to it?”
“I don’t know,” Rose said.
“You know what I think?” he asked.
“That even if I don’t want to know, you’d tell me anyway?”
“See, you and I are turning into the best of friends, so that is totally true. You’re overthinking it. Yes, I know you’ve had some major differences and he’s a giant dick, but you both are able to get along, and with all the crap, don’t you think it’s time the two of you have someyoutime?”
Chapter Ten
Rocco didn’t like being ordered around and as he was pulled into the dining room, he stopped glaring the moment he saw Rose. She was dressed in a beautiful red, with some of her hair pinned back while half of it fell around her shoulders.
“What’s going on?” he asked.
Graham sighed, almost contentedly. “I’m just going to say it. You both need to get over your differences, have sex, so you can be focused on me during the full moon. I’ve gotten enough information from the two of you to realize you’re a virgin, and you’re an asshole, but you are both mated. Both of you accept that you are mated, don’t you?”
Rocco nodded as did Rose.
“There, see, we’re making progress. So, what you both need to do is have some sex. Now, you need to do this with me out of the house, and I’ve set myself up a nice little boudoir in the garden shed. You can trust me. It is complete with a heater, food, a thermos, and some pretty good books. I’m all set, and if I need you, I have set these up as well.” He held up a walkie-talkie. “I demand, as your friend, someone who might very likely die soon, that you two realize that what you have is pretty damn special.”
He looked to Rose then to him, and finally turned on his heel, wishing them both a good night, and left.
Rocco looked toward Rose. “You look stunning.”
“Thank you. You clean up nicely.”
He wore his leather cut, a pair of jeans, and a shirt. Graham had told him to look nice, but he didn’t know exactly what that entailed.
“Did you make dinner?” he asked.
“No, this is all Graham.”
“I should have known. He’s got a little selfish streak, the man cannot be trusted.”
He loved the sound of her giggle. He always wanted to be the one to make her laugh. Moving toward the table, he held out a chair. “Would you like to sit?” he asked.
She nodded and took a seat. “Thank you.”
Pushing her chair back in, there was a moment where all he did was inhale the scent of her perfume. Again, floral mixed with vanilla. It was a heavy scent but he loved the fragrance.
There was a large dish covered by a metal dome, and he reached out and opened it, only to find some potato alphabet things, with the words, “Mate Each Other.”
Rose laughed. “Wow, can you believe him?” There were also slices of buttered bread.
“Unbelievable,” Rocco said.
“We should have known he doesn’t cook. He’s never volunteered to do any of the cooking.”
“Yeah, but he likes to do a lot of the eating.”
“Naturally.”
Rocco reached for two slices of bread. “Can I interest you in a sandwich?”
“You certainly can.”
He added several of the alphabet potato bites and squished them together in a sandwich, which he handed to her. He made himself a sandwich, took a bite, and then glanced over at Rose.
