“Ohhfuck!” He sank balls-deep. The angle provided a new depth that made her eyes flare wide and her lips form an O of pleasure.
“Scream for me, darlin’.” He withdrew and plunged deep. Over and over, he drove them toward a shaking end. Each sound she made was all for him.
He never wanted another woman in his life. She was it for him. “Love you. Love you so damn much.”
“I love you!” She cupped his jaw and kissed him, long and deep, with a wildness that spiraled out of control.
His balls tightened. Her pussy squeezed him, milking every inch of his cock. When he felt her arch in his arms and her insides clutch at him, he knew she was coming.
“Zach!”
“That’s it, darlin’. Come for me. Come for…” He broke off on a bellow as his release lit up every nerve in his body.
He pumped slower, savoring the electric bolts zapping through his system and the beauty of Opal’s release crossing her face.
Long minutes later, his brain began firing again. He rolled off her, taking her with him. A song was in his mind, but he didn’t realize he was singing it to her in a low voice until she skimmed her finger over his lips.
His gaze met hers. Love shone in her eyes.
“I love knowing that you’re happy here. With me. Happy enough to sing.”
He smiled, but his heart was flip-flopping with joy. “You make me happy, Opal. You and Rainie.”
“And the guys on the Gracey?”
He searched her gaze. “I didn’t realize until we were searching for Rainie and hunting down Feldman that they have my back.”
Suddenly, the fact that it was Friday evening penetrated his mind.
“Bonfire night.”
He sat up, and Opal did too.
“What?”
He jumped to his feet. “Wanna go to a bonfire at the Gracey?”
Her giggle was the best answer of all.
Half an hour later, the sun was dipping over the mountain range. The Gracey Ranch was far from sleepy, though. The flames of the bonfire leaped high into the air, and people circled it on half-log benches and lawn chairs, talking and laughing.
Opal was cuddled close to him, and as he set his fingers to the guitar strings and the first chord rang out, he felt a shiver course through her.
When he began to sing, the group fell silent, one by one, listening to the words he couldn’t begin to fill with the emotions he wanted. But he tried his best.
After a few songs, he took a break from the guitar. Colton and Meadow sat across from them, and Colton caught his eye.
“We have news about the land you want to buy,” Meadow spoke up.
Everyone listened hard. The crackle of the logs the only sounds of the night.
“Thanks to your offer on the land, the last of my dad’s debts will all be paid. He’ll own the Gracey free and clear. The investor being in jail means that he was able to negotiate for pennies on the dollar. We can sign the paperwork Monday.”
Opal squeezed Zach’s hand. And he didn’t think he could get any happier.
He ducked his head. “I’m glad to hear it. And proud to own it.”
“What are you going to do with the land now?” Opal asked.
