Right this goddamn minute.
Chapter Six
As Opal and Zach entered her bedroom, she stifled a moan. Every nerve in her body quivered with excitement, including the ones running to her vocal cords.
She wanted to cry out at the feel of a man’s hands on her body. From the way he kissed her. Slow. Deep. Thorough.
One peep that was too loud and Rainie would be standing in her bedroom in her princess nightgown, her thumb plugged into her mouth.
Zach moved a hand to close the door, and she shot out her own, wrapping her fingers around his wrist.
Breathing as if he’d sprinted across the top forty acres to escape a bull, he lifted his head and opened his mouth to speak.
Before he could utter a word, she pressed a fingertip over his lips. “Shh. Rainie.”
He gave her a nod of understanding, and she unlashed her fingers from his wrist, allowing him to close the door with scarcely a click.
With the light from the hallway cut off, she could no longer make out his features. She didn’t need her sight—she had four other senses to enjoy the experience.
Zach overwhelmed her with his fresh cedar scent, the taste of coffee lingering on his tongue and hiscallusedfingers moving across her skin.
Gooseflesh pebbled her forearms.
He dipped his head so his whisper washed over her lips. “You’re cold.”
“No. Nobody’s…touched me…in so long.”
The noise he made in his throat—part groan, part growl—was so damn sexy that her nipples pinched into tight buds.
With insane slowness, he stroked his fingertips up her arm to her shoulder. Then he slipped his warm fingers under her hair. When he applied pressure on her nape, she tipped her face upward.
“Opal. My god, you’re so beautiful.”
“You can’t even see me.”
“I’ve been seeing you for a long time.”
Heated sparks took flight in her stomach. As he captured her mouth, the sparks turned cherry red with desire.
She scraped her fingers over his shoulders, pulling him down, savoring the feel of his warm muscle riding underneath the cotton of his western shirt. She took a step backward, leading him to bed.
When he broke the kiss, stopping dead, she just knew he was waiting for her agreement. Nobody she’d ever slept with even blinked before whipping out his dick and making demands of her. Not this man. Not Zach Webb.
Gliding her fingers over his stubbled jaw, she tried to show him how much she wanted him.
As if he understood, he gripped her tight.
He slammed his mouth over hers, and she swallowed a cry. They tumbled onto the mattress, his rock-hard body pressing her into its depths as he kissed her with far more skill thananyof her other lovers.
In milliseconds, her panties were soaked. She rubbed her aching breasts against his chest.
She found the buttons of his shirt and fumbled open two before he tore his mouth from their kiss and planted it on her neck.
“Oh god!” Her breaths came faster as the rough bristle of his unshaven jaw and magical mouth drove her wild.
He located her earlobe and sucked it between his lips. Arching, she battled to swallow another noise she couldn’t release.
With more skill than she thought herself capable of in her present state of arousal, she yanked his shirt out of his waistband and managed to unbutton the entire front without losing her patience.
