“There’s the obvious.” I bite down gently again. “The way you deep-throated me, goddamn.”

She giggles, a flush of pink creeping up her neck.

“Is that your signature move?”

She pulls back, her eyes searching mine like she knows what I’m really asking.

“No.”

“I think it should be.” Her smile fades a touch. “But only with me,” I clarify. We stand there for several seconds, both of us probably wanting to say more. To ask questions about what the next steps are for us but it’s late and I’m too afraid she’ll run if the topic comes up.

“I think we should go to bed.” I glance at the clock that reads 1:11 a.m.

“What’s it going to be like tomorrow?” That spark of panic flashes in her eyes.

“First, we’re going to sleep in.” She opens her mouth to protest but I press a finger against her lips. “You need it. And then I’m going to bring you breakfast in bed because you’re going to need your strength after what I put you through tonight.”

I help her down from the counter, my hands on her body as I lead her back upstairs.

“You’re going to spoil me,” she says through a yawn as we climb into bed together.

I push aside the overwhelming urge to remind her that taking care of the person you love isn’t spoiling them and if that’s what she considers spoiling, it’s very indicative of the kind of relationship she’s used to.

“And as much as I’d like to promise I won’t take you again in the morning, I’m not sure I’ll have that kind of discipline to resist.”

“I might just lie here and let you do all the work.” She flops down on the bed. “That is if I’m still alive.” She groans, stretching out her arms and legs. “I’m so sore.”

“Good,” I remind her. “I hope to keep it that way, remind you who did it to you.”

“I’m sure I’ll never forget.” Her voice is barely audible. “Good night, Austin.”

I pull her against me, spooning her body against mine as I bury my nose in her neck.

“Good night, beautiful.” I kiss her several more times, a gentle sigh coming from her before her breathing shifts into a deeper, slower cadence.

CHAPTER 19

Taylor

“Do you think they know?” I tug nervously at my skirt, glancing up at Austin for a look of reassurance.

“Seriously?” He doesn’t seem worried at all.

“We’re both arriving late, which we never do, and we’re arriving together.” I keep my voice lowered, even though it’s only the two of us on the elevator. “Which we also never do.”

“I highly doubt that our employees will correctly assume I was blowing your back out all night just because we’re arriving late to work—together. Oh, and two more times this morning.” He swats my ass and my mouth falls open. “Don’t act like my crassness doesn’t turn you on.”

I blush because he’s right and also because I’m now turned on.

Shit.

“I just don’t want it to be weird.”

“Then don’t let it be weird.” He smiles. “But maybe wear your hair down today.”

“What? Why?” I reach up to my slicked back ponytail. “Did I mess it up?”

“I didn’t realize how carried away I got with you last night.” He drags his finger over my neck, just above my collar. “Fuck,” he whispers, leaning in to press his lips to the spot.
