I opened my mouth to rebut his offer of a ride home, but he shook his head sharply and wrapped his big hand around my arm, not giving me the chance. He wasn’t going to listen to anything I had to say. I closed my mouth and let him pull me from the booth, stumbling against him when my feet didn’t move as fast as the rest of me.
I found myself flush against him, laughing softly. “I’m tired.” My hands fell flat against his rock-hard pectorals.
His hand tightened around my other arm as he held me tightly against him. “You’re drunk.”
My eyes opened wide. “I am not!” I glanced down at Lulu, who was watching us with quiet amusement. “Lulu—”
“Honey, you may not be falling-down-drunk, but you have had a lot to drink.”
“I have a buzz going,” I compromised, running my hands over Loco’s chest. I liked the feel of him beneath my palms. I ran my eyes up his body to the thick muscles in his neck, further up to the muscle leaping in his jaw. The scruff covering it didn’t disguise it or the hardness of his features. I licked my lips with the anticipation of tasting him when his deep growl caused me to meet his eyes.
“Let’s go before I fuck you right here.”
Lulu’s loud snort was the last thing I heard as he took my hand and dragged me from the bar.
Chapter 17
Millie
I rolled over with a moan, refusing to open my eyes and acknowledge that it was morning and that I had to get up. I felt like crap. Not as hung over as I’d been expecting, but still, I felt like crap. Hopefully a long, hot shower and a pot of coffee would help.
Thankfully I only had one job for the day, and that was at the White’s. They had gone on a three-day cruise and hadn’t wanted to board their Pitbull, or, more likely, they’d been unable to find a place that would take a Pitbull because of their reputation, but Stella was really a big sweetheart. The Whites had raised her since she was a puppy, and there was nothing mean or threatening about her. They liked to joke that if anyone broke into their house Stella would more likely lick them to death than bite them.
I moved and moaned. Gradually my sleep-dulled brain cleared, bringing back flashes of the night before. It had been a long time since I’d let my hair down, and I had Viola and Lissa to thank for finally breaking that streak. A night of drinking, dancing, and making new friends had revealed that I’d gotten into a rut. There was more to life than work. Even Russ showing up at the bar hadn’t been able to ruin it, even if it had been a scary encounter in the moment. I thought about the threats he’d made towards me and wondered if he was all talk, or if he intended to really do something. Concern for Helen crept into my thoughts. I would check up on her to make sure that she was okay.
Movement at the doorway to my room drew my attention. Loco stood there looking way to sexy in nothing but undone, low hanging jeans and holding a cup of coffee. How could I have forgotten about him? He’d brought me home, undressed me, and put me to bed. Where had he slept? I snuck a look at the other side of my bed but didn’t see the telltale indentation in the pillow.
“Slept on the couch,” he said, guessing my thoughts. “Was afraid I’d take advantage of you once I saw your pretty tits and bare pussy.” I rolled my eyes, which caused him to laugh. He walked further into the room. “Here.”
He sat down on the edge of the bed while I pulled myself into a sitting position, bringing the sheet up with me against my naked skin. “I’m surprised you let that stop you.” I reached for the cup that he held out to me and took a sip. “I’m going to need more than one, I think.”
He surprised me by leaning toward me and taking my chin in his hand. He pulled my face close to his, mindful of the cup I was holding. “Don’t take advantage of women, darlin’, and especially not you. When I fuck you I want to make sure you feel every touch of my hands, every lick and bite. I especially want you to feel every time I slide my dick into your tight, hot cunt.”
He wanted to hear me scream his name.
I pulled back from his hold.
His words took the breath from me, and I could only stare at him, feeling my heart rate pick up and my core clench with need. I wanted all those things, too, and more. Why did he have to be so tempting? I’d thought my attraction for Loco would have waned some after the way he’d treated me, but I couldn’t deny that I thought about our one-night sexathon all the time. I thought about him and how things could be between us.
Why was he even here? I took another sip of coffee. After learning from Lulu how he was with women, my instincts told me that this wasn’t the norm for someone like him. He didn’t get involved with women in a domestic setting. Maybe…I quickly put the brakes on where my thoughts were heading. I’d only be setting myself up for hurt and failure if I began to think that I was special to him.
I didn’t bother asking him why he was still at my place, because Loco did what he wanted, and deep down I was glad that he’d stayed. “I need a shower.”
“You have work today?”
I nodded, suddenly wishing that I didn’t.
“Go get your shower and I’ll fix breakfast.”
My eyes widened. “You can cook?”
Amusement softened his features as he reached forward and tucked my hair behind my ear. “I can scramble up eggs and make toast when I have to.” He got up to leave.
“Add cheese to the eggs.”
“You got it, darlin’.”
A stupid smile spread across my face as I watched him exit my room. Was this how it would be if we were a real couple? Loco fixing us breakfast after a long night of fucking? The thought caused a tingle to run down my spine. Loco had powerful talents with his hands and mouth. I shook my head at my silly thoughts and walked naked to the bathroom.
