She was dressed to kill.

Were they on a fucking date?

“Loco?”

Leslie’s questioning tone drew me back to her. I pressed my lips in annoyance. She was waiting for an answer about the drink. “How about I buy you a drink and then you go home.” I didn’t pose it as a question.

She laughed. “I just got here. Why would I want to go home?”

I tossed a frown over my shoulder as we walked toward the bar. “Women who are alone don’t belong in a place like this.”

“I’m sure there are other women here who came alone,” Leslie quipped.

I snorted. “Yeah, women with experience looking to get laid.” My mind immediately went to Millie. Was that why she was here with Doc?

“Jealous?”

“No. I don’t get jealous.” That was a flat out lie. I was feeling something seeing Millie and Doc together, and I didn’t like it one bit. I wanted to go over there and rip Millie from his fucking arms and leave Doc with a broken jaw.

“Maybe I’m looking to get laid.”

Leslie’s words and the invitation behind them caused me to look down at her. Her message couldn’t be any clearer. “Not from me,” I said firmly. We’d reached the bar. “What do you want?”

“You.”

Her answer pissed me off. I closed my eyes and grit my teeth with growing irritation. I’m not sure what I’d done to give her the impression that we were going to happen. Christ, before I’d seen her at the restaurant when I’d gone with Millie it had been months since I’d last seen her. This was one of the reasons that I almost always stuck to club bitches, although every once in a while it was a nice change to have pussy that none of my brothers had tasted.

I turned slowly to face her, making sure that my expression conveyed exactly how fucking serious I was. “Look, you and me aren’t going to fuckin’ happen. I’m not what you’re looking for. Find a nice man who’ll respect you and take you on dates and shit.” She opened her mouth, but I continued on. “It ain’t going to be me. After I buy you this drink, that’s it.” Part of me couldn’t believe that I was brushing her off. She had a banging body, but her time on my dick had come and gone.

A gamut of emotions crossed her face before disappointment settled in her eyes. Her heavy sigh of resignation revealed that she’d accepted what I’d said reluctantly. She had to know that she couldn’t change my mind, and I’d been honest with her from the start. It annoyed the fuck out of me when a woman thought she was going to be that special someone, the one who would break me of my whoring ways.

I liked fucking--a lot--and I liked variety. Once I was done with a woman, I was done. I felt absolutely nothing for the woman staring up at me, other than sorry that she was being hurt.

My eyes found Millie out on the dance floor. My jaw hardened with an anger I couldn’t explain. I shouldn’t have felt anything about seeing her dancing with Doc.

But I did.

“I’ll have a shot of tequila.” Leslie said, her tone slightly dejected. “Will you at least have one drink with me?”

Sure. I could do that. I ordered two shots and threw mine back like it was water, while Leslie sipped at hers. It wasn’t how you were supposed to drink a tequila shot, but who was I to educate someone on how to drink? It wouldn’t surprise me if she was doing it to prolong my leaving. The man sitting next to us noticed that we were standing up against the bar and offered his stool to her. As they began to converse I slipped away, hoping like fuck that I could put Leslie behind me for good.

I booked it toward the back of the room where the restrooms were located. I’d watched Millie slip away from Doc and head in that direction, and I wanted to catch her before she came back out into the bar. Part of me knew I should just leave her alone, but I’d never been a smart man when it came to pussy. Besides, she was too fucking sexy in that little black dress, and if I found out that she was there alone dressed like that there was going to be hell to pay.

I leaned against the wall with my arms crossed and waited for her. Patience had never been one of my virtues, and as one woman after another came out of the bathroom I began to wonder if Millie had even gone in there. I was about to go inside and find out for myself when the door opened and she finally emerged. She didn’t see me because I was waiting on the other side of the door. I let her sexy ass take a few steps down the hallway just so I could watch her dick-hardening strut before I reached for her arm and held her back from entering the main room.

I ignored her gasp and pulled her back into the shadows with me.

She relaxed slightly when she realized that it was me. “Loco—”

I pushed her up against the wall and closed in on her with my body. “Are you here alone?” I growled down into her upturned face. My nostrils flared as I took her in. Fuck, she smelled good. Edible good.

“No—”

I scowled. “You here with Doc?”

“No—”

“You here with another man?”
