Chapter 10
Millie
I had no idea what time it was when I woke up the next morning, but I didn’t care. I’d had a wonderfully deep sleep after the sex marathon with Loco. The tequila we’d consumed after we’d woken the first time had helped. There were two things that I’d learned about the sexy biker--one, he could sure put the booze away, and two, his staminawassomething to brag about. Oh, and there was a number three. He knew just about every position there was for great sex.
I forced myself to sit up, moaning at the aches in my sexually abused body. I felt like shit and I had to look like it, too, and I was thankful that there wasn’t a mirror in sight. I glanced at the other side of my bed, the indention of Loco’s head still visible in the pillow. I wasn’t sure how he had managed to get up so early and go to work. I vaguely remembered him leaving the bed with a mumbled, “Have to go, darlin’.”
That was what, hours ago? Jesus, was I late for a job? I racked my sleep-dull brain. First, I had to remember what day it was. I laughed softly to myself. Oh yeah, Sunday. I only had two jobs later in the day. Thank God! I pushed the covers aside, got up, and looked down at my nudity. When was the last time I’d slept naked? Never. I’d always been worried that I might sleep walk, even though I’d never done it in my life.
I went to the bathroom, did my business, and got a shower. I’d planned to make it a quick one, but the hot water felt so good on my body that I stayed a little longer. I quickly dried off and spritzed myself with body spray. Before leaving, I took the time to brush and pull my hair back. As I was about to turn away from the mirror something caught my eye. Several somethings. Oh, my! I leaned in.
I was covered in hickies and faint bruises! And… was that a bite? I leaned in some more. It was! How…when…I shook my head in disbelief. I knew Loco liked nibbling, but I didn’t recall him doing anything hard enough to leave a mark. He hadn’t broken the skin, but it was clearly a bite mark. He sure liked leaving evidence of where he’d been.
I grinned stupidly, not understanding why. Maybe…but I quickly shook my head before the thought could take root and went to my bedroom to dress. I wasn’t going to fool myself into thinking that what Loco and I had done was any different than what he’d done with other women. It made me jealous to think that he’d fucked them with just as much vigor and had left his mark on them, but I knew it meant nothing more than him getting carried away during sex.
I was not going to disillusion myself like that.
I got dressed and decided to go to Viola’s to see what was going on. I saw right away that her door had been repaired. I could hear pounding from inside, and opened the door without knocking. V was in the kitchen. As I walked up behind her, I heard her mutter, “I need to stop thinking about it.”
“Thinking about what?” I asked close to her ear.
“Jesus!” She jumped and turned her head to look at me. “I didn’t even hear you come in.”
I laughed and glanced over her shoulder at the sizzling bacon, suddenly hungry. “Are you making enough for me?”
“Of course. With Loco here I expected you to show up.” Her smiling eyes ran over me, and I knew that she could see more than I wanted her to. “Someone had a rough night.”
I made sure that Loco and Bull weren’t anywhere close by before I leaned in and admitted, “Loco has the stamina of a machine.” I giggled. “God, it was good, V. So many freaking orgasms. He’s an animal.”
“Are you and he…?” She removed a waffle from the waffle maker and poured in more batter.
“It’s way too soon for that, but I hope it’s leading in that direction. I like him.” Even as the words left my mouth, I knew that the possibility that our relationship would ever lead to something serious was slim. He’d been honest with me right from the start that I shouldn’t expect anything from him. But a girl could hope, right?
I sensed that V was going to say something that hurt even if she didn’t want to. “I hope you don’t get your hopes up, honey. These men . . .” she shook her head with regret. “They’re not one-woman men.”
I knew that.
“We’re going to fix the window.”
I met Loco’s eyes, and he gave me a wink as he walked by. Damn, he was potent. I couldn’t deny the warm feeling that spread across my body that came from just that simple acknowledgement from him.
V smirked and said after he was gone, “I bet you just had a mini orgasm.”
I laughed and gave her a light shove. “It takes a little more than a sexy wink.” It was time to change the subject. “So, have you decided anything about Nick?” Nick was her ex, and the one who had caused all of the trouble the night before.
She nodded, scooping the scrambled eggs into a bowl. “I think the best route is to take out a restraining order. He respects the law.”
What? “You’re not going to report him after last night?” I was a little surprised by that. God knows what could have happened if Loco hadn’t been close by.
“I suppose I’ll have to in order to get the order.” She put the cooked bacon on a paper towel on a plate and set it next to the eggs. Then she went to the fridge for the butter and grabbed the syrup from the pantry next to it.
“Well, I think that’s a good idea. Frankly, I’m surprised he’s doing this crap. He didn’t strike me as the kind of person who’d overreact to a breakup like this.”
V didn’t say anything, calling out, “Hey, boys! Breakfast is ready!”
It was comical how fast they appeared. “Come fix your plates before you sit down.” She’d set the plates, cups, and silverware on the island next to the food.
“You’re not going to serve us?” V smiled, but otherwise ignored Loco, who moved up next to me. The look he gave me was positively smoldering. His hand went right to my ass, giving it a squeeze. I barely held back a moan. God, I wanted his hands on me. I wanted his lips on mine and I wanted his cock deep inside me.
