I chuckle, pulling her closer. “Back to our trailer. I plan to fuck you senseless all night, baby girl.”
She stops abruptly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “Oh?”
I step closer. “Is that a problem?”
She bites her lip, her breathing quickening. “No... it’s just...”
“Just what?” I brush a strand of hair behind her ear, my fingers lingering on her cheek.
“I want you, Ty. But—” She pauses, and I sense the conflict within her.
“But what?” I prompt.
“I want to try something.” She sinks her teeth into her full bottom lip. “Lily told me how Cade likes to chase her in the woods.” Sofia’s gaze moves to the woods surrounding the carnival.
“Oh?” I squeeze her hand, already intrigued by where this is going.
“Mmhmm.” She steps closer, her curves pressing against my arm. “I kind of like that idea. Especially if you wear a mask.”
Heat floods my body at her suggestion. “That sounds perfect.”
I guide her to the costume storage tent, rifling through our stock until I find what I want—a black full-face mask studded with silver and two dark mesh eye holes that will hide my expression completely.
Sliding it over my face, I turn to her. The mask changes my voice as it’s fitted with a voice distortion, making it deeper. “Run for me, baby girl. You’ve got thirty seconds before I come hunting.”
Sofia’s breath catches, her chest rising faster. Her green eyes darken with desire as she backs away from me.
“Better start counting,” she whispers, then turns and disappears into the darkness.
I begin the count, my blood pumping faster at thethought of pursuing her. My shoulder still aches a little, but the adrenaline makes it lessen.
I count to thirty slowly, drawing out the anticipation as I listen for her fleeing footsteps. My body is coiled tight, ready to spring after her. The night air is crisp.
I move, my footsteps purposeful, cutting through the carnival grounds toward the woods.
Sofia’s scent reaches me first—that unique blend of vanilla and something distinctly hers. I follow the trace of it, moving with purpose, my heart pounding in my chest.
The rustle of her dress betrays her hiding spot, and I smile beneath the mask. She’s chosen a dense cluster of trees, hoping to conceal herself in the shadows, but I see her with her back pressed against the thick trunk.
I close in, my footsteps silent, until I stand directly behind her, the curve of her hip brushing mine. She startles, a gasp escaping her, but I cover her mouth with one hand while the other curls around her waist, pulling her against me.
“No fair,” I murmur, relishing how she shudders in my arms. “I caught you too quickly.”
She squirms against me, and in a flash, she slips from my grasp, darting deeper into the woods.
“You didn’t catch me!” Her voice echoes through the trees.
I smile, eyes scanning the dark trunks and the moonlight filtering through. I spot her again. She’s hiding behind a thick oak, the pale skin of her shoulder visible, her dress caught on a branch.
I stalk toward her, keeping my movements slow anddeliberate. She watches me, her eyes glittering with fear and excitement.
Closing the distance between us, I slam her against the tree, my body pinning hers to the rough bark. One hand tangles in her hair, holding her head back as I press my thigh between her legs.
“Please, no!” Her voice is breathless, her words arousing me further.
“I’m going to take what I want,” I growl.
“No, let me go,” she begs. Her eyes shine with unspoken desire.
