Tingles of electricity started at the top of her head and the tips of her toes and danced through her body, meeting in her belly. She trembled and exploded all over her hand. Moaning, Abby wondered what had happened to her and what it was about Sawyer that had brought on that kind of reaction.

The next morning, Abby got a text from Xyla.Sawyer just bought the local clinic from the old doctor who retired. He’s looking for a nurse.

Abby wrote down the address. After printing out a copy of her resume and newly issued RN license, she headed to the clinic, hoping that she could keep her cool while they talked.

Sawyer greeted her with a wide smile and, in spite of herself, she blushed.

“Xyla said you were looking for a nurse. I just earned my degree and license,” she said, handing her resume to him.

“You’re planning on moving to Angel’s Creek?”

Abby nodded.

Sawyer looked over her resume. “I need a nurse and you’ve got the qualifications. Can you start tomorrow?”

“Absolutely,” she said enthusiastically.

She went back to the inn. Benny, the older man who owned the place, greeted her.

“You’ve got a big smile. Good news, I hope?”

“Yes. I was just hired as a nurse at Dr. Sawyer Cooke’s new office.”

“That’s terrific. Sawyer is a good man. I’ve known him since he was born.”

“He seems to be pretty great. My best friend, Xyla, just married Sawyer’s best friend, Sean.”

“I was at the ceremony. I didn’t stay too long at the reception, though. I saw you there.”

“Oh,” Abby said, not sure what else to say. She hadn’t noticed Benny there.

“So now, you’ll be needing a place to stay, I reckon,” Benny said.

Abby nodded.

He looked intently at her for a minute as though he was trying to look into her soul. “I know a guy that has a place for rent. Let me call him for you.”

“Thank you.”

Two hours later, Abby was setting her bag on the kitchen table in the small, furnished, cottage-like house she had just rented. It only had one bedroom and the kitchen was small, but it was perfect for her. It was also in her price range, which was also important. It included the utilities, which made her happy.

She sat on the couch and texted Xyla.Got the job and got a cute little house. I’m going up to Albuquerque to pack my clothes and everything else in the apartment. Luckily, I don’t have much.

Abby made the couple hour trip back to Albuquerque and quickly packed her clothes, sheets, towels, pots and pans, dishes, and books. The apartment had been furnished so she didn’t need to worry about that. She had just enough room left in her car for her small TV in the front seat.

She walked down to the manager’s office and told him that she was leaving and gave him the keys. It was a month-to-month lease and she was giving him the two weeks’ notice as was required. He was a nice man and went up with her to do the walk through.

“Everything looks good. Where should I mail the check for your deposit?”

Abby wrote out her new address, hugged him, and was on her way. When she got to her new home, she got online and changed her address with the post office.

Feeling very satisfied, Abby ordered a pizza and a couple of sodas and sat on the couch. A small twinge inside made her wince. This had gone so fast. Abby had been wanting to get away from Albuquerque for a long time, but this was sudden. She could hardly believe that it was real.

After dinner, she took a quick shower and went to bed. She was so excited that she lay awake for a while. Staring at the ceiling, she thought about Sawyer and wondered what it would be like to work for him. It was one thing to dance with him and fantasize about him. That nice persona he put on could be fake.

Xyla really likes him and says he is a great guy.

She wondered how she was going to work with him and not have an orgasm every five minutes as she fell asleep.
