“Fuck. You are a sight.” Leaning back on his haunches to completely undress us both then rolling a condom on that he very clearly had in his pants pocket.

I’m starting to regret my decision to come back with him.Let’s hope he can make me come, that's the least he can do.Although it wouldn’t be the first and probably won’t be the last time a man put his pleasure before mine.

He lines himself up with me, pushing in, and then he's moving in wild, erratic movements. He doesn’t kiss me, tries to find my clit but fails miserably, and five minutes later, we are laying next to each other with Conrad's arm wrapped around me, a look of pure bliss on his face while I am drier than the Sahara.

Turning to Conrad I say,”I had fun tonight, maybe I will catch you next time you guys play in town.” With a frown that he quickly shakes off, he gets out of the bed and says,”Yeah ofcourse. I did too. Let me walk you to the elevator and grab your number.”

And with an awkward side hug, I head back to Darcy’s apartment, so not ready to share the details of the night but knowing full well I will have to.

CHOCOWATE CHIP CWOOKIE DOUGH

Iwake up with a pounding headache and a dry mouth. I will never be touching another bottle of tequila in my life. Then, the orgasmic smell of bacon grease hits my nose, making my mouth water. Bacon is hands down the best food after a night of drinking, and I’m ready to devour it. I hear other groans of appreciation on the floor next to me, where Harley and Sinclair lay in a tangled mess of limbs and oversized t-shirts.

From the kitchen we all hear, ”Rise and shine, biotches. Ko has a story to tell us about a certain Mr. Conrad Hoyer.” I try to snuggle further into the couch only to be threatened by Darcy with no bacon if I won’t share the story of my escapades.

Once we are all settled with our breakfast, I begin to recount last night. “I think I hurt his ego when we were in the uber and I asked him what he does for work. And well…The sex lasted all of five minutes leaving me with a very dry vagina.”

“You’re telling me that man didn’t even try to get you off and then came in five minutes?” Sin mumbles from the floor, a pillow draped over her eyes, her bacon barely touched, and ahuge water bottle sitting next to her. She is clearly going through it this morning.

“That would be correct,” I roll my eyes thinking about last night.

Harley scoffs,”Gross, he must have been expecting you to be a puck bunny with how easily you left with him.”

I throw a pillow at her. ”Rude!”

Darcy chimes in at this moment. “Come on Harls. Give her a break, you know Momma never watched hockey, and if she had sports on, Ko would fall asleep.”

“Thank you D. This is whyyou’remy best friend,” sarcasm dripping off my voice as I glare daggers at Harley.

“I have a bone to pick with all of you. Why didn’t y'all tell me that I was going home with a hockey player?” I fully make eye contact with each of them so they can feel my aggravation with their move last night.

“Would you have left with him if you knew he was a hockey player with a bruised ego from losing?” Sin mumbles again, this time lifting her head slightly from the ground to munch on a piece of bacon.

“Absolutely not,” I say instantly.

“Why?” That’s all Darcy says, leaving the question hanging in the air. I really don’t know why I wouldn’t. The fear that I might not be enough maybe, the drop my self confidence took when Andy broke up with me, the worry that someone with status wouldn’t actually want me.

“Babe, you are stunning and have the sweetest soul. Anybody would be lucky to be with you, to even have you look at them. Conrad sucks, and I’m sorry that last night wasn’t good for you.” My eyes water as she continues,”It’s okay to take your time moving on. You don’t have to go home with random men, you can go on dates when you’re ready, but whoever you choose to give your time to is lucky. It doesn’t matter who it is, hockeyplayer, barista, hell an old man.” I smile, and because I don’t have words, I give my best friend a hug.

“Can I ask you something?” Harley asks from her place on the floor.

“Hit me with it, future LMHC.” I grin at her, Harley is so close to finishing her licensure and she gets embarrassed anytime we bring it up.

“What do you want your life to really look like? Like without Andy, without living on someone's couch, what do you want?”

“I want to find another nanny job that I’m passionate about. One where I feel welcomed and cherished and will pay me enough that I can get my own place or provide housing. Outside of that, eventually I want to find my person and be loved and cherished the way I deserve to be.” I pause. “But, most importantly, I want to be happy.”

“Putting that education to work today.” Sin chuckles face first into the pillow.

A few hours later, I’m hugging Harley and Sin, sending them back to their shared apartment, and I’m perched on the edge of Darcy’s bed as she gets ready for a date. “You look hot, think you’re coming home tonight?”

“Ehhh, probably not.”

“Boo, okay. I’m going to settle into my bed with mac and cheese and wine, then start applying for better jobs. The barista gig is easy, but I miss nannying,” I sigh. “If I can find another job like that I’d love to.”
