“G, what the fuck?” Ryker says.

Blue girl just laughs and holds her hand out to me, but all I do is eye it.

“I’m Oakley Erin Savage. If it was one of mine you were between, I'd do the same, so no harm done. I was just patching your boy up after he went a round or two with Stryker over here.” She flashes a huge smile at the man in the middle, all three wearing weird skeleton masks covering their faces.

“Kenna Kingston.” I grab her hand.

G walks into the room with the box I left with him, everyone turns his way when the smell hits us. The strange three crowd around Oakley like a barrier. Ryker stands stepping into my back, his hold on me tightens, while West and Cole shove off the wall by the window to come stand beside us. We all face G, but I’m the only one not wearing a look of confusion.

“Someone needs to start talking.” West says, his nose scrunched up.

His words remind me why I’m here. Pulling away from the warmth of Rykers hold, missing it instantly, I push that thought to the side to turn and face the Stone brothers.

“You three thought it would be smart to fuck with me? Leaving me something this fucking sick?”

Grabbing the box from G’s hands I push it into Rykers chest curling my lip at them. Flipping them the middle finger, my ringcatches Rykers eyes and I swear they darken into such a deep brown they’re almost black. There on my ring finger is the snake jeweled ring he put on the finger he left me. He saw it as a warning but I made it my crown.

“Game fucking on.” Storming out the room I leave them to clean up their mess.

The last thing I hear is Oakley laughing while the men gag at the item in the box, and right then and there I make a note not to mess with that crazy bitch.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

RYKER

The weight of my head feels heavy in my hands. Cole’s voice echoes off the walls of the room, while West tries to calm him down. That fucking stunt my little killer pulled earlier has sparked some shit through the house with Cole and West. Not to mention she came in like a hurricane while we had other guests here, causing a storm all on their own. Stryker had a field day in the ring with me, but his girl Oak just so happened to have her tiny ass planted right between my legs when a certain blonde blew through the door. G should have been able to stop her and he’ll have me to answer to later for that little stunt. Holding Cole back from chasing after Kenna has been hard enough. I don’t have time to deal with anymore bullshit.

“Looks like your girl is just as much trouble as our Blue.” Stryker says, humor in his tone.

Annoyance climbs up my spine. The three Lawless brothers crowd the room, stealing the last bit of space left. A little feisty woman around five foot nothing stands between her three wolves, giving off the appearance of holding them back, buther bite is far worse than theirs and we all know it. She has a reputation all on her own.

“Kenna Kingston is the definition of trouble.” I state.

Standing from the bed positioned in the center of the floor, I turn to Cole and West.

“Head home. I want G there by the time I arrive. I have a stop to make before I meet you there.”

Turning to address Oak, I speak to her, knowing their dynamic enough to know she’s the boss, “You get what you wanted or do you still need to stick around town?” I ask.

Nodding she glances back at Slade, the middle brother with a sly smile, “I think we’ll stick around for a little while. I’d love to see how this all plays out with your girl, but we also need to clean up a few things before we head back to Seattle.”

Having them in town isn’t the best move for us and I make that known.

Spreading my arms wide I put on a smile, “We’d love for you to stay, but having the Lawless and Savage families walking around Del Mar in the middle of a shitstorm of our own could spark some rumors. Maybe it’s best if you lay low.”

Crossing her arms, Oakley steps backwards, anticipating not one, but all three of her men to step into her back all at once.

“I hear you, Ryker, but it’s already been decided. Just think of it as a partnership. If you get in over your head you can call on us. Trust me, we’ll be keeping an eye on things here. Your father was like a brother to mine, but so was Kingston. I have a personal interest in making sure Kenna isn’t touched in any way she doesn’t want. Keep that in mind, will ya?”

Wiggling her fingers in a fake wave she turns to walk out the room, while the Lawless brothers stand there watching her walk away. Silas looks back over his shoulder, the youngest brother, and pulls up his mask to flash his black lip ring.

“Clean house or we’ll have no choice but to step in. You may run things here, but we won’t allow your snakes to crossover into our waters.”

West, Cole, and myself stand in the room alone, the door shuts behind them, leaving us in the silence of what just happened. Before Kenna came in here leaving fire in her wake, we were on the path of them leaving town, but after what they saw I knew they would stay. Kenna thinks we left that little gift for her, but she’s fucking wrong. So wrong. Cole almost puked from the sight of the decomposed hand. We’ve seen and done worse shit, but this was personal. Whoever left that box for her to find not only has a way into her dorm, but they also knew how we would react.

“I’m going to kill him.” Cole growls through clenched teeth.

“How do you know it’s a man?” West asks.
