“So what, you’re mad at me for having money?”

“No...”

“What are you mad at, then?”

“Who said I was mad?”

“Your tone and the fact that you’re looking at me like you want to rip my head off,” he replied, cool as a cucumber. It made her want to actually rip his head off... or give him head.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said and looked away. “It was a nice party tonight,” she said after a few seconds. “You must have spent a fortune on all this.”

“Do you have a problem with that too?”

“No. I think Emma is lucky to have a father like you. She’s amazing, and I figured you can’t be all bad if you raised someone like her.”

“Is that a compliment I hear from you?”

Her lips curled in a small smile. “Maybe it is.” She raised her head and looked at him.

Big mistake. The already small space instantly got smaller, and she struggled to pull air into her lungs. She remembered how good it had felt on the plane falling asleep in his arms, and her bed lost all its appeal. The elevator stopped on her floor, and the doors slid open. She immediately hit the button to close them back, and they continued climbing higher.

He grew still. “Jill, what are you doing?”

She shrugged. “Nothing,” she said as innocently as possible. “Just figured you could do what you did earlier and show me what it feels like to fall asleep in the executive suite.”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” he replied quietly.

“Why not?” She took a step toward him, a thrill traveling through her when he took a step back. She didn’t stop walking until she was standing right next to him. “I know you want this as much as I do.”

“It doesn’t matter. We both agreed this was wrong.”

“Weird, not wrong...” She looked up at him, her eyes round and wide. “Tell me, if I did not run away at the airport this morning, what would we have done?”

“That was before I found out your brother was marrying my daughter. It doesn’t matter now.”

“You know, technically speaking, you’re not my father-in-law yet.”

“Fuck me,” he groaned. “You can’t do this, Jill. You’re being...”

“What?” she asked breathlessly, leaning toward him so her breasts brushed against his chest. “A bad girl? Are you going to punish me, Da...”

“Don’t you dare complete that sentence,” he growled at her.

“Or what?” she taunted him, pressing a hand against his chest. She had no idea what she was doing. Had never had to seduce a man before and had nothing but instinct to work with. That and a burning arousal that erased every bit of fear and common sense she had left. “You’re going to spank me?”

“You’ll like that, won’t you?” he said, glaring at her.

“As a matter of fact, I would love that very much. And when you’re done, maybe you could do that thing you did with your thumb again. You know, the way you rubbed it against my clit when your fingers...”

“Okay, that’s enough!” He threw himself away from her. “Have you gone mad?”

“Maybe I have,” she said, looking at him. “And if I have, it’s all your fault. I didn’t ask you to help me back at the airport or bring me up to first class with you. I sure as hell didn’t ask you to give me the best fucking orgasm of my life.”

“Like fuck you didn’t,” he hissed at her. “Flirting with me the way you did... The things you said. You practically fell into my lap.”

“And you gave me a taste of something I’ve never had all my life. All I’m saying is we’ve taken a bite from the poisoned tree already. We might as well gorge ourselves while we can still get away with it. It’s not like we’ll be doing anything more than what we’ve already done.”

He raised a brow. “We go down this road, and I promise you we’ll be doing a lot more than that.”
