“She’s the milk, Goliath.”

Now, I was really fucking confused.

“Huh?”

Taliah massaged her temples, something she did often around me and my brothers.

“Her life is symbolic of the milk shattering. Trying to put the pieces back together is her way of finding herself again. God, you’re an idiot sometimes.”

Shit…

“That’s worse than I thought,” I admitted, scratching my head. “But I got it covered.”

“What do you think you can do, Gee?”

I smiled, not afraid to brag about my amazing lady-knowledge.

“How does a woman get back the power taken from her?” I said, the pride confusing the fuck out of my sister.

“What?” she finally said, her annoyance making me laugh.

But instead of torturing her more, I said, “Take. It. Back.”

To be fair, ‘Going out’ was subjective. We couldn’t go anywhere without getting a few bullets as ass plugs if any cops found us, but today was my Little Lamb’s birthday. I might be a monster, but gift-giving happened to be my love language.

Whoa…love language?

No, that was an expression. Pussy was easier to access when giving shit to girls. That was it. Grabbing a coat from the rack, I threw it over the shaken woman standing beside the door. She looked confused as to why I had dropped the thing on her head, but I didn’t give a damn.

I knew what she needed. Now more than ever, and with the boys navigating Wonderland tunnels, I knew it would be perfect.

“Let’s go.”

I started walking, and she had to run with her corgi legs to keep up with my angry strides.

“Hey! It’s not very nice to?—”

I wheeled around and got in her face. “I’m not nice, cop. When will that click?”

Grabbing her shoulders, she rubbed her skin, maybe from the outside ice surrounding her…or maybe from mine.

Okay…what the fuck?

How can this hot-and-cold man make me come with his freaking sister in the living room a wall away from us, and then two seconds later, be a complete asshole?I swear I didn’t understand this giant at all. He said he had a surprise for me, a birthday present, but he didn’t seem happy about something he supposedly planned.

“Goliath?” I tried again to get his attention, his icy chill colder than the freaking weather.

I shivered, feeling stupid for choosing this outfit. Now, I was going to freeze to death…at least I wasn’t a virgin anymore, right? I laughed without humor at myself. Goliath had seemed to be warming up to me or thawing out, maybe?

The last few weeks, I had been healing at his sister’s house…he seemed to become a warmer and, dare I say, caring human being. What had I done to make him so angry at me now? He grunted in acknowledgment, at least this time.I sighed, trying to make sure I worded my sentence correctly in fear of provoking him further.

“Did I…do something wrong? Are you mad at me for alerting your sister? I didn’t mean to?—”

“No.” His blunt response did not answer much, but at least he answered.

“Okay…well, can you tell me where we are going?”

Another grunt as we got onto the ATV.
