I blew out a low wolf whistle, waving the pretty boy over to us. Quinn wasn’t one to back down, and as much as I hated the blond buzzkill, I respected that he always accepted a challenge.
He took the bait and ushered that sweet little piece of meat over to us famished deviants. Her eyes were nearly vibrating, but she was trying to keep from averting her gaze. So, the little thing was scared of us already?
Good.
I wanted to taste the fear on her skin while I fucked that sweet ass and ripped that dark hair from her head. The girl was short. Even by girl standards, she couldn’t be more than maybe four feet eleven inches, if that, which meant that she came up a little higher than my dick.
So, to get a nice blowy, I guess I would need to be on my tippy toes.
Micah, the ever-present killjoy, cleared his throat and halted my little eye-down of the freshie.
“It’s so nice of you to bring us a gift Quinny Binny. Shame I didn’t get you anything. Maybe you can reduce my sentence in this hell hole, and I’ll buy you a beer.”
Quinn didn’t look amused, and the woman beside him stiffened at my words. That caused me to smile. She was going to be such an easy toy to play with because I’d barely even said anything, and already she was shying away from me.
“Masters,” Micah said, puffing his chest up to mine.
Of course, I was taller than him, and looking down at his gelled head made me laugh. The cosmic joke about me being named Goliath was that I was seven feet six inches.
“You will not be playing with Zelle,” Micah said. I feigned being hurt with a pouted lip and puppy eyes. “I mean it, Goliath. If you so much as breathe in her direction, I will ensure you do not leave your cell even to shower.”
I raised my brow, curious now as to why this little thing beside him would make him so protective.
“And that’s Detective Quinn to you. I am not some rookie who makes idle threats. You don’t know me anymore.”
“Did I ever actually know you, you lying fuck?”
That caught him off guard and the lady’s attention. She was eyeing him suspiciously but diverted her gaze.
Adjusting his pompous-looking tie, he met my stare head-on, getting so close to my face I could smell his rich aftershave.
“What’s that supposed to mean, inmate?”
Refraining from snorting at the predictable dig, I said, “I don’t know, detective. But if your shiny knives go missing, your friends should check their backs.”
Judas spoke up. “Don’t you have a job to do, piggy boy? Drop the hottie and share. We want a taste.”
Pharaoh was quiet, assessing the situation as always.
“I’ll be sure Warden Briggs knows you don’t take a shit without my permission, Masters.”
“Ha! The shit police. Policing your shit. See that Roxy? Go steal his baton so we can plug him up! Then, we’re the shit police.”
Everyone ignored Judas and his ramblings.
Quinn and the woman next to him were oddly silent now, waiting for my retort. But I didn’t care. This shiny new toy fell into my playground, and I would be damned if anyone told me I wasn’t going to play with it.
Davidson wanted me to get close to these guys? They looked at me like they wanted to eat me, and honestly, I wasn’t sure if thatwas in a sexual way, a literal way…or both.
One thing I knew for certain was that I didn’t want to find out. Davidson could screw off, and so could his egotistical detective. I’d find the missing patients on my own, and it wouldbe accomplished in a way that didn’t include a trio of brothers that looked like sex and danger all rolled into one.
Micah clearly had a history with them, and though I wanted to call him out for not being completely honest with me, we were headed to the administration department. So, calling him out right now and being overheard was a bad idea.
Micah walked beside me, quiet. It was obvious he was still peeved from his showdown with the triplets. The hair on the back of my neck rose, and the burning gaze behind me from the three brothers made me shiver. They watched my every step as I left that cafeteria, a promise in their ethereal eyes, especially the tallest one, Goliath.
Something…felt…off.
“Am I really doing this?”
