She shrugged a shoulder, her fingers tickling the back of his neck. “Celebration or consolation, I figured it would work either way.”
He reared up, knocking her to her back, hovering over her. “Maybe you can put it back on?”
He felt her foot slide up his calf. “Maybe I packed another one.”
He grinned. “Yeah?”
She chuckled, “Yeah.”
His dick went instantly hard. Guess it was time for round two.
Chapter Twenty-six
“Have I said how much I love this idea?” Emerson and Oz were having a bed picnic. Pizza—to mimic their first date.
He chuckled around a greasy, cheesy bite. “You might have mentioned it once or five times.”
She laughed. “I’m just happy you came up with a solution for our Valentine’s Day dilemma.” And he’d done so when he’d seen how upset she’d been about having to work extra hours for the holiday—Valentine’s Day being one of the busiest days of the year in the industry.
He gave her a soft smile. “It’s official, February thirteenth will beourValentine’s Day, today and forever more.”
Forever more. She liked the sound of that. Holding out her slice of pizza, she said, “To us.”
Oz tapped his slice to hers then they both took a bite, laughing as they swallowed.
“You know,” she said when the pizza box lay empty except for a few discarded crusts. “I couldn’t help noticing a gift bag sitting on the coffee table.”
He smirked. “Is that a subtle hint you want your present?”
She raised her brows. “Oh, was I being subtle?”
Oz chuckled, rolling to get up.
Emerson scrambled to the side of the bed. “I’ll go get yours too. It’s hidden in—”
“Your duffle bag at the back of the closet?”
Her mouth fell open. “You big snoop!”
He raised his hands. “In my defense, you didn’t zip it all the way and the sparkling, red paper caught my eye.”
Exaggerating a stern look, she said, “Remind me, I need to start hiding your presents better.”
He grinned, leaving the room and a few minutes later they were both back, respective presents in front of them.
“You go first,” Oz said, getting comfortable against the headboard.
Wasting no time, Emerson tore at the tissue paper, tossing it on the bed. She peeked inside the bag and pulled out a brochure. “The Everything Travel Guide to Ireland?” She looked up, brows raised.
“I left the trip open ended. Figured we can go any time before next season starts.”
That’s when it clicked. “We’re going to Ireland?”
He shrugged as if it were no big deal. “I know you’ve always wanted to go back.”
Unexpected tears filled her eyes.
Suddenly looking concerned, Oz reached for her, pulling her into his lap. “Hey, now, what’s all this? I thought you’d be happy.”
