Page 50 of Vas

Anna glanced up at Tiffany’s question. “Vas knows I’m in Hollywood. I never told him I was going out.”

Tiffany was smart. It didn’t take her long to put two and two together. “And, I take it, you didn’t know he could track your phone?”

Anna shook her head. “I’m not sure how I feel about that.”

Luke shrugged as though it were no big deal. “Tiff and I can track each other.”

“Yes, but you guys live together. Vas and I have only been dating for a month.” She took another sip of water, trying to decide how much she was bothered by Vas’s revelation. “I think my real issue isn’t the fact he can track me because I have nothing to hide, but that he didn’t tell me he could. I don’t know… It feels kind of sneaky.”

“Because it is sneaky,” Tiffany announced.

“Guys don’t see things in the same way girls do,” Luke countered on behalf of all men. “He probably just didn’t think to mention it.”

Her eyes were drawn back to her phone when Vas sent another text.

You still there?

Sorry. Yes. Just processing the fact you can track my phone.

Is that a problem?

Not the fact that you can, per se, but that you didn’t tell me.

Her phone rang in response and she sent it to voicemail. She could barely hear herself think let alone have a phone conversation.

I’m at a club and the music is too loud to talk, she typed to let him know why she hadn’t answered.

A full minute passed before she saw Vas start typing again.

Who are you there with?

My friend, Tiffany, and her boyfriend, Luke.

You remember what I said before I left?

As if she could ever forget him growlingyou’re mineinto her ear.

Yes.

Good. Let me clarify that statement. I don’t share what’s mine. Understand?

I understood before. But while we’re on the subject, I’d like something clarified.

Yes?

That’s a two-way street, right? I don’t need to worry about you hooking up with anyone while you’re away?

That’s correct.

So it’s safe to assume…

She left that hanging for him to fill in the blank.

You’re my woman.

I like the sound of that.

Good. So do I.
