And then he felt it. Her walls spasming around his dick as her movements became jerky. Grabbing her hips, he took over, surging up while slamming her down. Once, twice, on the third thrust, he stayed planted, coming harder and longer than he ever had before.

Tammy collapsed her weight onto him and buried her face in his neck, her breaths coming just as fast and fierce as his own. Chest to chest, their hearts pounded with a strong beat in time with each other.

He ran a hand down her back to her ass, rubbing the soft skin there before it went on a voyage back up only to make the trip down all over again, keeping a soothing pace.

A good minute passed before he heard a muffled, “Wow.”

A chuckle rumbled from his chest, and he was quick to agree. “Yeah.”

She squirmed a bit, and he grabbed her hips to keep her still. Then he rolled them again, not only keeping them connected but planting himself deep.

“How are you still hard?”

Elbows to the bed, he cupped her face in his hands, running his thumbs along the apples of her cheeks. “It’s been a while for me, too.”

“How long is a while?”

“A little over two years.”

Her eyes widened as what he implied sunk in. “That’s a… long time.”

Holding her eyes, he slid almost all the way out followed by gliding back in before saying, “Guess the saying’s true.”

She gasped, planting her feet flat to the bed and surging up with her hips, meeting his thrust. “And, um, what saying is that?” she asked but did it distractedly.

He wanted more. He wanted her senses so rattled, she was incapable of speech. “That good things come to those who wait.”

That got her attention. Her eyes found his. “And I’m a good thing?”

“No, baby. You’re the best thing.”

And then he got something even better.

Her smile.

Chapter 12

Tammy had beenon cloud nine all day at work. Even her students acting up—which wasn’t unusual for a Monday but even more so after having a substitute for two days—hadn’t brought her spirits down. And it was all because of Jake and their weekend together. She’d never met anyone like him. He was definitely nothing like Kevin. He was one of the good guys.

Phenomenal sex aside, she enjoyed spending time with Jake. He was easy to talk with and made her laugh. He was also attentive and knew what she wanted or needed almost before she did. And heactedon those needs. From the little things, like getting her a blanket when she appeared cold, to the big stuff, like taking care of her problems—AKA her asshole ex.

Not once had he made it seem like she was a burden or a duty. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Tammy had a feeling, if she asked, he would try to give her the world.

Put all that togetherwiththe phenomenal sex, it wasn’t any wonder she was falling for him.

Hard.

One of her coworkers popped her head into the doorway of her classroom, pulling her out of her reverie. “Hey, Tammy, glad to have you back.”

Tammy slid some paperwork into her briefcase and looked up with a smile. “Thanks, Carol. I’m glad to be back.”

“Hope everything’s okay with the family.”

Tammy internally cringed, cursing their school principal for spreading her made-up excuse. “Everything’s fine.”

“Guess if it wasn’t, it’d be all over the tabloids, hey?”

Of course, she was referring to Tammy’s brother, mega movie star Nathan Reed and his fiancée, Victoria Lee, who’d been all over the headlines a few months back when someone had tried to hurt Victoria and their unborn baby. Tammy still shuddered at the thought.
