She blushes, and then a sadness sweeps across her features. “I feel so guilty, Scarlett. I feel like I’m betraying your Dad.”

“Mom, Dad would want you to live your life, not sit around in the house for the rest of it.” She softens and goes back to cooking. I take that as the end of the conversation. I don’t want to push her.

After lunch, I go to the office to talk to Preston about Mom working for him.

“Hey you, perfect timing. My last patient just left.” He gets up from the front desk and pulls me in for a quick kiss.

“So I came here with some good news! I think I’ve found the perfect receptionist for you!”

“Oh really? I didn’t know you even posted the job.”

I explain to him how Mom wants to get out of the house, her experience, and her willingness for not a lot of pay and flexibility. We both agree she will be perfect for the job. I can’t wait to tell her, she will be so excited.

Preston and I spend some time going over the new website. I need him to pick which photos he wants for his website.

I am quickly reminded why working in the office with Preston is distracting. His smell envelops me and I am thinking about something else entirely by the time we get to the photos. I turn to look at him with that look in my eye.

“Scarlett, if you want to get this done you can’t be looking at me like that.” He sees right through me.

“What if I think we could finish this later and do something else right now?” I look at him with a flirty smile and thankfully he gets the hint.

Preston pulls me out of my seat and carries me back to his office. He places me on the floor to lock the door, then I am pinned against the back of the door, my hands bound by his above my head. His mouth is on mine and I only sense Preston. I need his hands on my body. I buck my hips into him telling him what I need.

“Patience, Scarlett.” He continues to work his kisses down my neck. Luckily when his mouth gets low enough, I can wiggle my hands free. Immediately holding onto his biceps. I’ve never felt muscles like Preston’s. He takes the exercising recommendation to a whole new level.

Preston begins undressing me and I return the favor. He grabs my ass and lifts me up, my back pressing against the wall. I wrap my legs around his waist.

He enters me and fills me deeply. There is nothing else that can compare to the feel of Preston inside me. The thrill of him slamming me into the wall isn't something I ever thought I’d like, but God, do I love it. I feel the orgasm coming, building up and burning down my spine.

“Scarlett, come with me.” He begins thrusting harder. His hands digging into my ass. Every touch is a sensation unlike anything else. That is my last thought as we come together in a tangle of limbs pressed up against his office wall.

Chapter Nineteen

Preston

Thesunlightisstreamingin through the window, and Scarlett is lying next to me. Waking up and seeing her lying next to me in bed has quickly become one of my favorite ways to wake up. She looks so at peace when she isn’t overthinking everything that is happening. She begins to stir next to me and I know she will be scooting her plump ass into me soon. Unfortunately, I have to get up and go to work today. Scarlett rolls over with a pout on her face and buries her head into my neck.

“Good morning, beautiful. I’m sorry, I have patients first thing this morning so if you want breakfast this will have to wait until later.” I say just as disappointed as she is.

Still pouting, she says, “Fine. I am hungry though so you definitely owe me food now.”

“Of course. Anything you wish.” I say, kissing her on the forehead.

“Obviously not anything.” I laugh at her as she heads off to the bathroom pouting and I head downstairs to get started on breakfast.

Once she showers she comes downstairs to fresh coffee, scrambled eggs, and bacon. Maybe this will make up for her disappointment this morning.

“Okay. Maybe you redeemed yourself. Just a little though.” She slides up next to me and leans on her tiptoes for a kiss. I will happily oblige with that.

“I was thinking maybe we could call Lorelei during breakfast and tell her about the job. She might be able to come over today.”

“Yeah that’s great, let’s call her!” She exclaims while pouring a cup of coffee for the both of us.

While on the call with Lorelei, Colton calls my phone. I excuse myself from Scarlett and Lorelei while they make plans for today.

“Hey, what’s up?” I answer the phone.

“I found a charge on our credit card for the hotel where the charity dinner is being held. I didn’t book it, and Elizabeth told me it was stupid to stay overnight. So who is using that room, Preston?” The anger in his voice is palpable.
