I point between us. “This. Or was it just a onetime thing?”

He smiles. “We had sex more than once.”

“You know what I mean.”

“No, this isn’t a onetime thing, Lilith.”

“Okay.”

He pulls me into his embrace. “You’re mine. You’ll sleep in my bed. And you’ll come around my cock every night.”

“Such a poet,” I tease. “Only one problem with that. What if one of the twins wakes up?”

“That’s what door locks are for.”

“You know what I mean. I don’t want them to see something that will confuse them.”

His lips brush against mine. “We’ll figure it out, I promise. But it might make things a bit easier if you move some of your clothes into my closet.”

“Wow. Already giving me a spot in your closet?”

“Yeah, I guess I am.”

I can’t stop the smile from spreading across my face. “I’ll get some things then.”

I leave his room wrapped in a towel. In my room, I change and then grab a few items to take back to his room. That’s when I spot the small bag that I got at the mall last week. I have it in my hand when I return to Dimitri’s room.

He leads me to the massive walk-in closet. His items are on one side and the other side is completely empty.

“Serafina’s sister took all of her belongings after she died.” He huffs out a laugh. “I heard she sold most of it.”

“Did you want her to take everything?”

He lifts a shoulder in a shrug. “At the time, I didn’t care. Now I wished I had saved a few items for the girls. Her sister took her jewelry, too.”

“I’m sorry.”

He waves his hand. “It is what it is. Use however much of this space that you’d like.”

I make quick work of putting away the items that I brought. The right side of the closet is still empty, and it makes my chest ache. Dimitri deserves a life where both his and hers side of the closet are full.

I turn to find him smiling at me.

“What?”

“Nothing. It’s just nice seeing your things in my closet.”

“Will your girlfriend get mad?”

He groans. “I should have never said I was going on a date.”

“Why not?”

“It wasn’t a date, for one. Not in my eyes, at least.”

“And hers?”

“Jackie has been a good friend to me since Serafina died. When her own husband died a few months ago, I think she clung to me even more because we understand each other.”
