She licks her lips, and the restraint that I’ve been holding onto so tightly starts to fray.

“Need you. Naked. Now,” I tell her and she tenses beneath me.

I frown. Did I read the signs wrong? I thought that she wanted me.

“We don’t have to do anything that you don’t want to, Saffron,” I tell her, and she blushes.

“I want you,” she says softly. “It’s just…you look like that and I… don’t.”

Her blush heats her whole face, turning it almost as red as her hair.

“I love your body. I’ve been dreaming about these curves for so long,” I tell her, my voice low and husky as I stare down at her body. “Can’t you feel what you do to me?”

I press my erection against her, and her eyes go hazy with lust.

“I just… I’ve never done this before.”

“Done what?” I ask, my brain still on the heated look in her eyes and how good she feels against me.

“Sex.”

“Huh?”

That gets my attention, and I blink.

“How is that possible?” I ask her, and she looks away from me.

“Well, believe it or not, but guys weren’t exactly lining up to sleep with the chubby bookworm.”

“Why not?” I ask her, and she blinks.

“I…because…because I’m overweight and shy, and that’s not what guys want.”

“You’re not overweight.”

And that’s exactly what this guy wants.

“I am.”

“No,” I argue.

“Like medically,” she starts, and I press my hand over her mouth, cutting her off.

“I don’t want to hear it. You’re perfect. I don’t like hearing you talk badly about yourself.”

“Itsteemuf,” she mumbles against my palm, and I shake my head.

“No. Perfect.”

She rolls her eyes, but I can see the pleased look in their green depths. If she wants me to tell her how amazing I think she is, I can do that. I’ll do that every damn day, all day long if she’ll let me.

I can also show her.

“Perfect,” I whisper again as I bow my head and kiss her neck.

She shivers and so I do it again.

“I love that you haven’t been with anyone before,” I whisper against her skin, and she frowns against my hand. “I’m a jealous bastard, and I wouldn’t have been able to stand if there was another man out there who knew you that way.”
