“Fuck,” I breathe out as I feel the weight of her breasts push against my chest. I grab her wrists and pin them against the back wall of the elevator, my thigh slotting itself between her legs.
Alyssa moans into my mouth as her wrists stay above her head. She subtly rocks her hips, grinding against my thigh like she has no control over herself.
I want her to let go, to lose control of the part of her that makes her behave. It’s thrilling plucking at her delicate little strings, making her unravel and show me what she’s truly thinking. What she truly wants.
I free up one hand, keeping her wrists together with the other one. I cup her cheek, my fingertips slowly trailing down her neck until they reach her breast. She automatically pushes her chest out as I squeeze her breast, prompting me to squeeze harder.
Alyssa pushes herself down even harder against my thigh, her fingers flexing as she aches to reach out to me. I almost allow her until we suddenly feel the elevator shift beneath our feet, making us freeze. “What’s happening?”
I don’t have to answer because the elevator starts gliding down toward the lobby like it was originally supposed to do. Oh, shit. I step away from her and take a deep breath, knowing that people are going to be waiting for us at the bottom.
Icannotbe seen with an erection next to my assistant. Damn it, relax.
Alyssa hastily fixes her hair and blouse, her cheeks remaining flushed. She can chalk that up to anxiety, though. Her eyes flash to mine for a moment, fiery desire clashing with their chilly hue.
As the elevator doors slide open, something tells me that we’re not quite done with each other yet.
Chapter three
Alyssa
Ifinally escape the elevator in a heated daze, nearly feeling dizzy from the intensity of our kiss. Ourforbiddenkiss.
“Oh, God…” I mumble under my breath as I step to the side of the small crowd gathered in front of our elevator.
I kissed my boss on the first day. No, no. That wasn’t just a kiss.
Wedevouredeach other, and we would’ve kept going if the elevator wasn’t fixed. I don’t know what happened! He started teasing me and taunting me, which turned me on more than I thought it would.
Something in me snapped, and I just…lost control.
I look over at Jensen as he talks with a few people. One of them looks like a fire chief, another could be a maintenance worker, and one is dressed in a dark blue suit as nice as Jensen’s. Maybe he’s the guy Jensen was talking to on the phone.
As stunned as I am about what happened in the elevator, I’m still Jensen’s executive assistant. I think. I need to work.
“We’ve checked the whole building, and there’s no sign of fire or smoke. It was just a false alarm,” the fire chief explains to Jensen. “The elevator didn’t respond as it should’ve.”
“It needs to be fixed. Immediately,” Jensen says. “If there was really a fire, we could’ve died in there.”
My stomach flips as I slowly approach the group. He’s right. We could’ve died if circumstances were different.
Instead, we were perfectly safe and decided our attraction toward each other was just too much to bear for five more minutes. What the hell were we thinking? “Can I help with anything, Mr. Riley?”
Jensen’s eyes flash over to me, making me freeze in place. He looks completely normal like nothing happened, which makes me even more nervous. How does he really feel?
What if he fires me over this? I kissed him first.
“I need you to contact Ms. Linden and reschedule our meeting for later this week. Profusely apologize for the inconvenience,” Jensen tells me. “Her number is written down on a note in my office.”
I nod and try my best not to exhale in relief out loud. “Got it.”
“I’ll be there soon,” Jensen says.
I don’t know how to feel about that, but I give him a small smile anyway. I turn back to the three elevators and pause, my stomach twisting at the thought of getting back on any of them. “I think I’m just going to take the stairs.”
Faint laughter sounds behind me as I head toward the nearest stairwell and go all the way up to the top floor. By the time I reach the door at the top of the stairwell, my leg muscles are screaming in pain from the exertion.
With a grimace, I push open the door and stumble out onto the top floor, which is completely empty. Everyone was evacuated while we were stuck in the elevator. That means when Jensen comes up here, we’ll be…alone.
