“Oh yes, I would love some chocolate covered pretzels.” I don’t wait for him to reply, closing my eyes I picture the salty sweet treat.

“Silver, what the hell!” Kane roars, and I jump, opening my eyes. I have never heard him shout before, and honestly he’s a tad scary.

“What?” I gasp. When I tried to conjure a bag of my snack it didn’t work instead, Kane is now covered in chocolate with some pretzels on his head.

“Ummm…”

Kane looks at me, on the verge of tears and gives me a smile. Muttering under his breath he cleans himself as if it never happened.

“That was weird,” I mumble, then continue toward the kitchen. I guess I’ll just have to make them the old fashioned way.

KANE

Something is going on with Silver. Her powers are unstable. I was thinking it had something to do with her emotions, but now I’m not so sure. Her moods are unpredictable, and I hate seeing the lightness in her eyes dimming by the day.

Leaving her in the kitchen with Merida, I try to find Luke. He’s been distant, and I have to wonder if it has something to do with the new houseguest.

I believe Luke when he says that he loves Silver, but he is evil incarnate and I can smell the lust all over Shayna when he walks into a room.

Checking his office, he’s not there. Thimon pops up out of nowhere, making me jump.

“Can I help you?” he asks, and I cross my arms.

“Where’s Luke?”

Pursing his lips, he gives me a nasty little smile.

“I was sworn to secrecy by my Lord, but might I suggest the greenhouse,” he says, then snickers as I turn and head outside.

It doesn't take me long until my eyes are glowing, and my cock is hard. Sometimes I hate being an Incubus.

Smelling the lust and desperation in the air, I know that I am coming up on Luke and Shayna.

She's practically panting for him as he ignores her advances, digging into the burnt soil, searching for something.

He's been happier the last few days, and I wonder if he's noticed how off our girl has been.

Something happened at the Springs, but he hasn't told me what.

Finally realizing that they aren't alone, Shayna gasps, pressing her hand to her chest. “Kane, you startled me,” she coos, licking her lips and giving me a once over.

There may have been a time when I would have taken what she's offering but not since meeting Silver. She’s my mate, and I’ve marked her as mine. Not even death will break a bond like ours.

“Luke, have a second?” I ask him, and he grumbles something under his breath, then cleans his hands of the soil, and climbs to his feet, nodding.

“Why don't you go see if Merida or Bridgett need help,” he tells Shayna, and I watch as her eyes widen.

“You want me to go help the servants?” she asks, and I roll my eyes. When Shayna first arrived she seemed sweet, a little quirky, but over time she's becoming accustomed to staying here and if she could get rid of Silver, I have a feeling she wouldn't stop at anything to be Luke's queen.

But she better be careful, because I can tell Luke is becoming fed up with her. Just because she has our protection doesn't mean he won't lock her in the dungeon with Alara.

Speaking of, I should probably check on the old hag.

“Go,” Luke snaps, his nostrils flaring. Shyana’s eyes widen even more, and it's almost comical. Turning she hurries away, and I chuckle.

“What did you need me for?”

“I wanted to talk to you about Silver, there is something off with her. Her magic is unstable, and hearing a baby at night isn't normal,” I begin, and Luke raises his hand, stopping me.
