“Sounds like a good fit.” Lazar agreed with their decision and shit so did I if it meant I didn’t have to waste time there. “Phalen, you and I can work with him on everything else. If he’s smart and a natural leader, it shouldn’t take much to get him up to speed to take over as Alpha.”

“So that’s the plan?” Jo asked and we all nodded in agreement.

“Alright then. We’ll have to make sure we keep things concealed until we get him trained. It will have to be here so Rolf doesn’t know what we’re doing.”

“He’ll have to agree…” Lobo stated. “He’s staying with his aunt, looking after her. She’s blind or something. That’s why he’s been with Calhoun. The kid is very protective…”

Nessah tensed and I knew exactly why.

“What’s his name?” I asked.

“Karr.” Phalen confirmed what Nessah and I were both thinking.

“Well, like I said, I don’t want to hold you guys. If we’re all on board with this then we have a plan. There are two months until the next council meeting. Zion will have to stand before them for killing Seth but we’ll present the option we came up with to solve the issue of Rolf not being fit to lead Calhoun.”

Phalen addressed my brothers. “You and I together have the ability to override any votes if we deem it necessary for the betterment of all the packs.”

“You do, but we don’t want them feeling as if we’ll use that power to our advantage for family,” Xander clarified and Lazar glared at him.

We muthafuckin’ will if that’s what it takes. – Lazar

No, we won’t. It would be temporary and not worth the issues it will cause. – Me

Oh fuck, look who decided to show up as a man. A true Alpha. – Xander

Fuck you. I’ve always been a man and an Alpha.- Me

Relax, baby brother. We know. No one is testing your manhood. And Xan, you’re right. We don’t need to start separating ourselves by using favoritism. – Lazar

“Family meeting over?” Phalen arched his brow. He knew we were discussing the matter privately. Lazar only smirked.

“Yeah, we’re done. We won’t override the decision if they send me to Calhoun,” I let them know.

“Alright then. It’s time for me to get back to Allure.”

“How are she and the twins?” Jo smiled but Phalen’s ass smiled bigger.

“They’re perfect. We’ll visit soon. It’s been awhile. Speaking of, where are the boys?”

“With Toy. There was no way we could have gotten this done in peace with them here.”

“I can relate. The twins are giving us hell.”

Jo grinned. “I can only imagine. Send my love.” Jo smiled wider and turned to Lobo. “To Key as well.”

After the meeting was over, everyone said their goodbyes and left. I crossed the hall and entered my place. We moved to the kitchen and I lifted Nessah on the counter, caging her in with my palms next to her thighs. I leveled my eyes with hers.

“What was that about in there? Is there a problem with Karr?” My wolf growled and Nessah smiled.

“Relax, big guy. No problem for me but there might be one for Neyla.”

“Why would it be a problem for her?”

“They have a thing.”

I frowned, not liking the sound of that, and she added, “They’re not together. She told me he has someone else but you heard how he said her name. He has feelings for my sister. Karr was helping her stay under the pack’s radar. He’s the only one she trusted to know where she was and when we showed up, he’s the one who helped her find me.”

“I didn’t notice anything different about how he said her name.” I leaned in and kissed down her neck to where I’d marked her and dragged the tip of my tongue over the spot. “But all I see is you, all I know is you, so I wouldn’t have.”
