CHAPTER 49

Vita

“I HAVE SOMETHING TO show you.”

Vita jumped slightly, her heart racing for a moment before she calmed. It was just Renatus.

The night was cold, already a month past the autumnal equinox, and a chill was in the air. Still, the rose garden was one of her favorite places, and she wanted to soak up the last days of decaying flowers.

“Oh?”

She shut her journal, her interest piqued. She was at a good stopping point anyway, her brain a bit fried as she neared the end of the story.

“Yes, my love.” He held a hand out to her, a smirk pulling at his lips, white hair and pale skin aglow with moonlight. “Are you coming?”

Vita accepted his hand, letting him pull her off the stone bench and escort her back to the palace. This was her life, something she never could have imagined—even in her wildest fairy stories—and yet here she was. It was real.

Renatus was silent as they strolled through the halls, though she could see from the smile and the glimmer in his eye that he was brimming with excitement.

The warmth in her chest burned brighter every day, seeing Verian and Renatus bond sending butterflies fluttering in her stomach. Everything was happening exactly the way she wanted.

They stopped in front of his room, the special space where the three cozied up every night, and Vita quirked a brow. This was nothing new, and yet he practically squirmed with eagerness.

Inside, Verian already lay on the bed in a silky robe, lit by glowing candlelight, a strange smile on his face. Vita narrowed her eyes at Renatus, then moved to Verian’s side, taking his grasping hand.

“How are you, sweet girl?” he asked, and she could already hear the strain of lust in his voice, could see the way his eyes hooded with desire.

“I’m good, Ver. How areyou?”

He sputtered a cough, sweat dotting his face, a sheepish look replacing the one of longing.

“Oh, Vita darling, I wanted Verian to be ready for us.” Renatus approached them with a devious grin, snaking an arm around her waist and patting Verian on the thigh. “Have you been a good boy for me? Did you do as I instructed?”

Verian whimpered, nodding his head.

A pulse of arousal beat throughout the room, Vita’s breath gone as she glanced between the two men. Renatus turned to her with a serious expression.

“I gave Verian his own toys to play with, to prepare himself for me. Similar to the ones I use on you. I think he likes it, don’t you?”

She could not formulate a coherent answer, imagining how Verian felt as the spire penetrated him, the way his muscles clenched against it, glazing his eyes with euphoric lust.

“Now, are you two going to give me what I want?” Renatus purred.

Vita gulped, nodding eagerly, ready to give him everything. She’d spent decades tightly wound, her entire body clenched as she tried to control her magic. Now that she had dominion over her power, she was ready to let go, ready to give up the reins to someone else.

And clearly, Verian was as well.

“Come to me, my darlings,” Renatus said, stepping away from the bed and taking two pillows with him.

She felt like she was in a trance as she followed Verian to the middle of the room, the heat between her thighs starting to become uncomfortable.

Renatus just smiled as they stood before him. “Undress each other.”

The command was simple, and they obeyed.

Verian was quicker, lifting the skirt of her maroon dress before slipping it off over her head. Soft fingers were at her undergarments, sliding them down to the floor as he gazed up at her. The exhilaration of being nude in front of her two lovers tingled every inch of her bare skin, their eyes drinking in the details of her form.

The robe made undressing Verian simple; silk sliding off his smooth skin and dropping to the floor in a heap. His cock was already hard, standing at attention and making it impossible for Vita to look away.
