“Let’s not go there,Precious Princess. We both know you’re never gonna beat me.”

“You’re right, I think I need some more practice.” I jiggle my breasts in his face and he laughs. “I’m just glad you got to relive one of your fantasies.”

“Just don’t wear those overalls around me ever again, especially with that cherry t-shirt if you wanna be safe.”

I cup his face. “We don’t have to be ashamed of ourselves.” I want to be clear with him so there’s no confusion. “I’m not going away if you want this.”

“George, I haven’t even taken you on a date yet. We’re doin’ all of this backwards.”

“So what? We’re doing things our way. Don’t tell me you’re still worried about Gray and my dad?”

He takes a long breath. “Be lyin’ if I said I wasn’t, but at the same point, you’re worth it. I’ll be honest. I would never have taken your virginity if I didn’t really believe that we could be somethin’ more.” My heart hardly dares to believe his words. “It wasn’t just about the sex. It never was.”

“I know. But the sex is amazing.”

He chuckles. “So you just want me for my dick?”

I wrap my arms around his neck. “I never wanted you just for that, otherwise I would’ve made a move a long time ago.”

He piques a brow. “You would’ve made a move?”

“Why is that so amusing?”

“You’re deflating my manhood right here.”

I laugh. “I don’t think so, sugar. This thing never goes down.” We kiss again. “What I meant was, I saw the real you a long time ago. I just hid it with all the name calling and teasing. I didn’t want to admit to myself I found you attractive.”

His eyes soften. “I want you to know I’ve never looked at you like anything until recently… well, the last few years when you were everywhere and I tried to ignore it.”

“I know that, Hudson.” I whack his arm. “God. I know you better than you think I do.”

“Over the years, you’ve gotten under my skin and I was too stubborn to admit it. When my mom died, I shut everyone out. I was still fucked over by my accident, and my ex doin’ what she did. I told myself I didn’t care, but it hurt me. I’ve wanted to settle down for a long time now, and I didn’t think it was gonna happen. So I threw myself into the farm.”

“None of that could have been easy. What you and your dad have done is commendable. I’m so proud of you.”

He smiles softly. “We just gotta work out a way to tell your family what we’re doin’.”

“Well, I’m not sure that they wanna hear about us fucking in your truck, tiger.”

He squeezes my ass with his hands. “Very funny. I meant,us.If we really want this, then we gotta do it right.”

“Ooh, are you gonna take me out for dinner and set tongues wagging all over town?”

“Dinner will be at my place where I can eat dessert at the table like a gentleman.”

My cheeks flush. “Am I dessert?”

He grins slowly. My heart almost combusts out of my chest. “You got it in one.”

Hudson

She lies in my arms and my heartbeat slows. Her long, dark hair strewn across my chest is like heaven. Except, I’ve never known this kind of heaven before.

The kind that dreams are made of.

After our fun in the woods, I drove her back to the hay shed — luckily Brook hadn’t returned so there was no explaining to do. Especially since my shirt no longer had buttons.
