“Tell me you’re mine, darlin’,” he groans. “Come on my cock and tell me you’re mine.” His teeth grind as he talks, and my head is light and fuzzy.
“I’m yours!” I pant hard as an uncontrollable wave crashes and sends my body into awkward convulsions. “I’m yours!” My arms shake. My thighs quiver. My stomach trembles.I’m a mess.
“Oh fuck,” he growls lowly and thrusts upward, taking over where I’ve lost control.
A moment passes, then two, and soon he’s decimating what little strength I have left as he pumps me full of hot come with a loud, harsh growl. “Good… little… girl.”
Whatever reserves I have left disappear and I collapse against his chest as he breathes hard and heavy. Our eyes meet and our foreheads press against one another.
“You feel so fucking good, darlin’. I didn’t deserve that. Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m great.” I sigh and stay close to him as the sweat from our bodies cements us together.
I’m not sure how long we’re in this position, but when his phone buzzes on the bedside table, I assume it’s the guys looking for us. I forgot we’d have to explain all this to his brothers.
“I guess we should get moving.” My voice is still ragged, and I have to clear my throat.
“No.” He holds me tighter. “We should sit right here until someone comes looking. You’re my captive, remember? I can’t let you go.” His hand brushes against my cheek and I lean against his massive frame, humming lowly under my breath.
When I left San Diego for a quiet Christmas getaway, I anticipated amazing mountain views and a solar eclipse. I expected to run from my past and find something that brought me to life again. Instead, I became a captive to a big, rough, inked-up mountain man, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Epilogue
Kade
One Week Later
I stare toward my gorgeous bride and hold her close against my chest. She wears a long lace gown that hugs her curves with a red hood over her shoulders.
A lot can happen in a week.
Snow falls peacefully, and though I thought the eclipse party would be the only party we held here at the farm this season, I’m surprised… as usual.
“You two are adorbs!” Mariah smiles and leans in toward Jovie. “But… you can stop trying to set me up with your brothers. I can’t date my boss. He’s too old.”
“Come on… take Charlie for a ride. That’s the advice you gave me with Kade and look how that turned out.”
“Yeah, well,” she sighs, “no offense, but if I’m married to Charlie by the time you get back from your honeymoon, take me to the psych ward, please. I will have clearly lost it.” Her face brightens as though she’s thought of something new. “Maybe this incoming eclipse has something to do with you guys acting like maniacs.”
Jovie and I look toward each other and grin. We know how crazy it looks to be getting married after only a week, but when you know, you know.
We know.
“Seriously, though, what’s the plan after the honeymoon?” Mariah makes small talk to avoid Charlie who’s set at the bar making friends with Jovie’s parents.
“I’m gonna stay here and work the farm with Kade.”
“Accounting or…”
“Yeah. I’m sure everyone will hate me at the end of the month, but I think I can get things back on track from a profit perspective and maybe even fund a few of the projects the guys have been putting off.”
“I’ll also keep her busy making babies,” I say with a smile before kissing her forehead softly.
For some reason, this prompts tears in the otherwise sarcastic Mariah.
Jovie leans into her friend and wraps her in her arms. “Oh, no. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, nothing. It’s your wedding day. We’re not doing this right now. I just… I’m a mess. It’s probably hormones.”
