He picks up his pace screaming for Ricky. Taking a remote out of my pocket, I hit play. Brian's laugh plays through the trees, and I join him.

I feel lighter now. I'm not sure how long that will last, but I'm going to bask in it.

Shaun runs faster until a low hanging branch stops him, instantly snapping his neck. I can hear the break from here.

“Are you fucking serious!” Blakely shouts, and I shake my head. “That was so anticlimactic. I mean we didn't even get to rough him up or anything.”

Ripping her mask off, she turns to me with a pout on her lips.

I laugh, and pull her into my arms. Removing my own mask, I place a kiss onto her forehead and hold her as close as I can.

The baby kicks between us, and she grumbles.

“Okay, well now it's snack time,” she mutters, and Chuck pops out of the shadows like he’s been waiting.

He hands her a granola bar and a bottle of water.

Looking at me she smirks. “See,” she grunts, and I smile.

“Enjoy it, B, you never know when things will change.”

Famous last words. I guess when they say be careful what you put out into the universe is true.

A woman starts to scream, and Blakely grins.

“Oh, I almost forgot about our little bartender.” Turning to Chuck, she bats her eyelashes at him.

Sighing, he nods, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Last one, baby,” he says, and she squeals, pulling my arm to where Shayna is still screaming.

As we get closer my blood turns cold. Mike is fighting with her. I watch them through the trees, not letting him know I'm here yet.

“You made your bed, why should I suffer for it too?” Mike says, taking another step forward toward her. “You made that call, and my brother had his ass kicked. I couldn’t recognize who he was afterward. You’re not innocent.”

“Maybe not, but you killed him,” she snarls. “How could you do that to your twin, the other half of your fucking soul!”

“What?” I gasp, walking out of the shadows with Blakely.

My heart hurts and I have to place my hand over it. No, Mike wouldn’t hurt Brian. Would he?

“Why are you doing this? You promised me, Mike! I never told. Please. I have a child. Please. I've kept your secret.”

Mike stands over her with a bloody grin. He holds his bat with a tight grip, resting it by his hip.

Blakely steps forward and grabs Shayna by her hair. “What is she talking about,” she hisses at Mike, and he rolls his eyes.

“Nothing, she's the one who called Ricky that night. She's the catalyst of Brian's death.”

Shayna begins to shake. She's muttering under her breath, but I can't understand her. Looking up at Mike she smiles, opening her mouth.

“No. You killed him.”
