“Baby.” His voice was strangled. “I need to know. If you don’t reply, I’m going to call an ambulance. Is Michael here?”

“He left ten minutes ago, but we can get him here if you need him,” another man said.

“No,” she whispered.

She didn’t know Michael well, but she didn’t want anyone. No one else needed to know she had peed herself.

“Rainey. Tell Daddy what’s wrong.”

“Pee,” she whispered.

“Are you hurt? Do I need to get you to the hospital? Are you in labor?”

“Pee,” she said a little louder but not loud enough forother people to hear her.

“Oh, Little one.”

She brought her clean hand up and wiped the tears off her cheek. His voice didn’t hold any anger.

“You’re okay,” he gently said. “Let’s go get you cleaned up.”

Out of nowhere, someone handed a blanket to Daddy, and he wrapped it around her, picking her up and holding her bridal style.

“Daddy is here and is going to take care of everything. You’re okay.”

Rainey buried her head into his chest, not wanting to look at anyone else. She didn’t want to see how big the puddle had gotten on the floor. How mortifying was it to have that happen?

“John, can you watch Dane for me while I take care of Rainey?” Daddy called out.

“Absolutely.”

Daddy continued to walk with her in his arms, taking her to who knew where.

“We’re going to one of the private rooms. They have bathrooms in them where I can clean you up.”

“Clothes,” she wailed.

She didn’t have any extra clothes. What was she going to do? She couldn’t just walk out with a blanket around her.

The thought of another blanket made her cry even harder. She had ruined her clothes and now the blanket wrapped around her. They were all soaked with pee.

“You’re okay. Daddy has some extra clothes in his office that you can wear.”

Would she even fit into them? She was pregnant, and her belly was huge. She probably only needed the underwear and pants. Maybe her shirt made it through without getting wet.

“Someone is grabbing my extra pair of clothes from my office.”

She gripped his shirt, not wanting tolet him go, but at the same time, she didn’t want anyone to see her when they walked in. Rainey was probably the first person to pee on their floor, and it was mortifying.

“You’re okay,” Daddy cooed at her. “Take a deep breath for Daddy. Such a good girl. In. Hold. And let it out. Such a good girl for Daddy.”

A knock on the door brought her out of her daze. She looked at the door with worry. Were they going to walk into the room and see her still wrapped up in a blanket?

“I’ll be right back.” Daddy gently placed her on a bed.

Rainey whined and reached out for Daddy. She didn’t want him to go anywhere.

“I’m right here. I’m just grabbing your clothes. Daddy isn’t going anywhere.”
