“If you ever have a concern like that, you let me know. Even if you think it’s really small, let me know. We’ll talk about it. I’m always here to help you and listen.”
“Okay.”
“Such a good girl. Now, let’s start corner time,” Daddy said as he got up and walked over to the corner with her in his arms. “You are to sit still while in this corner. You are to think about what you have done and what you should have done. Daddy will come get you when your time is done.”
“You won’t leave me?” she whispered, clinging onto his shirt again.
“Never. I’ll be sitting on the couch, watching you.”
She hissed as Daddy sat her on the chair. Her bottom was on fire. What was worse, sitting down on a hot bottom or standing on her aching feet?
“Time starts now.”
Rainey sighed and looked at the plain white wall. The guilt was slowly slipping away, but she was still worried Daddy would be mad at her after. He said all would be forgiven, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t be angry.
She knew what she did was reckless and dangerous. Sheput not only herself but also her baby at risk. And the lying; it pained her to lie; the guilt she had felt right after had swamped her.
Tears pooled in her eyes once again, rolling down her face anddripping off her chin and onto her belly.
“Times up, Little girl.”
But Rainey didn’t move. She deserved to have more corner time, more lines, but maybe not more spankings. Her bottom was already on fire, and she didn’t want any more.
“Rainey?”
Turning around, she looked at Daddy.
“I’m sorry.”
Daddy walked and stood in front of her, drawing her into his embrace.
“You’re okay. Everything is going to be okay.”
“I shouldn’t have done it! I should have come to you, but I didn’t want you to get hurt.”
Daddy held her as she continued to cry.
“Let’s go snuggle.” Daddy pulled away and ran his hand through her hair.
“What about lines?”
“Don’t worry about them. You won’t be getting them. Punishment is all done. All is forgiven.”
She shook her head. That made the guilt inside her grow.
“No, Daddy! I can’t. I need to do the lines. I need them.”
“Shhhh, you’re okay.”
“I still have the guilt. I need to do them.”
Daddy leaned down and kissed her forehead.
“Please!”
“All right. I’ve got the paper on the table. Let’s go.”
He helped her stand up and they both made their way toward the table.
