I look up into his big brown eyes. “Thank you for not judging me.”

“Thank you for trusting me.” He winks, and his gaze drops to my mouth for a second, which makes my heart pound. "You good?”

“I’m good,” I say, as I let him pull me to my feet. I follow him into the kitchen, smiling from ear to ear.

Beside him, I feel small, dainty, feminine. It’s a feeling I’ve never experienced before.

And I want more of it.

And heaven help me, I want more of Archie.

ARCHER

“All right,it’s time to get off this sofa. You’re turning me into a couch potato,” I say, handing the remote to Gennie. “I’m going outside to shovel. My body is in desperate need of some physical exercise.”

“It was your idea to watch movies,” she pouts.

“True.” I crack my back. “However, that was two days ago.”

“You make it sound like that’s all we’ve done.” she scratches Gizmo between the ears. “We’ve cooked together. We’ve slept to…” Her pretty face turns beet red.

“Sweetheart…” I laugh, “I know what you meant. Remember, I was there when we agreed that sleeping in the same room would be good for both of us in case you had any nightmares. Therefore, I’m well aware we slept in the same bed together, not slept together.” I kiss her on the top of the head. “However, you should know that if you asked me to sleep with you, I might be tempted to say yes.”

“What do you mean?” Her mouth drops open. “You would say no?”

“Maybe,” I shrug, holding in a laugh. I’m not about to tell her she’s been haunting my dreams for days.

She licks her lips nervously. “Why would you say no? Because I’m a big girl?”

“Big girl? Where on earth did you ever come up with that? Curvy. Insanely gorgeous, hashtag truth on that one. But big? Not on your life.”

Her brows knit down tight. “You’re serious.”

“Of course, I’m serious.”

Then it hit me. “Your ex called you big.” When she hides her eyes, I think about tying that no-good piece of shit to a post and firing up a weed whacker. “Sweetheart, I think we’ve A, determined he has no place here. And B, the man’s an idiot.”

Gennie slowly rises from the couch. The look in her deep green eyes causes my chest to rise and fall and my heart to pound against the inside of my chest like a battering ram.

“Kiss me.” She brushes a thumb across my jaw. “I want to know what it’s like to be kissed by a man like you.”

I shake my head as I close my eyes, convinced this isn’t really happening. I’m having a daydream.

But when I open my eyes, she’s still there, her lips slightly parted and moist.

“Please… just one kiss.” She rests her palm over my heart.

“One kiss is not going to work for me, sweetheart.”

“All right.” Her eyes flutter closed, “Kiss me as much as you want.”

I cup my hand around the back of her head, pulling her close and breathing in the scent of her Happy. “Are you sure?”

“I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life,” she whispers as she presses her body against mine.

Our lips touch, and a jolt of electricity sparks through my body. Every cell in my body screams her name. I’ve never wanted a woman more… needed a woman more. She whimpers into my mouth, and my hands shift down to fit perfectly around her curves.
