“Well, we’re going to find out. I’ve already cut off her accounts and froze everything when I noticed someone snooping around in them.” I did what I had to do, and I have some of the best hackers on it. For now, she’ll use my card, or at least I hope she will.

“You think it might be the same person?” Ren asks when I shrug.

“It’s hard to say. I’m not sure why anyone would go after her, to begin with. We’ve looked into the ex, right?” I ask him. He nods his head as I exhale slowly. It’s not like I can go over there and take her. I mean, I could, but what would I do with her while I had to work? Where would I leave her? I can’t keep her chained to the bed forever, can I? The thought of doing just that causes my cock to stir.

“You tell me how you want to play this. I can keep watching her after you go over.”

“You want your wife to have my balls?” I ask him. He chuckles but I wouldn’t do that to him. I wouldn’t take all his time away from his wife; that wouldn’t be right. I might have my issues, but I’m not that bad of a man.

“She’ll understand.”

“No. We’re not doing that. I don’t want to take your time. Let me think about this. I may end up putting cameras over there,” I tell him.

“You think she isn’t going to notice cameras?”

“She will, but I’ll smooth it over somehow.” He laughs before turning and leaving my office. Cameras do sound like a good idea. That way, if anyone aside from me shows up, we’ll be able to see who it is and what they’re doing.

Thinking it’s the best idea, I walk back over and sit down at my desk to make a few calls. By the end of the day today, she’ll have new cameras at her house covering every inch of the outside.

I’ve debated putting cameras inside but decided they’re unnecessary at the moment.

After the calls are made, I dial my brother.

“Gannix. What the hell, man? You haven’t called me in days,” he says when he answers the phone.

“I’ve been busy. What’s going on?”

“Not much. I’m putting together a surprise for you for your birthday,” he announces, laughing into the line.

“Oh fuck. Why does that not sound like something I want to be a part of?” I laugh along.

“Oh, yeah, you do. This is going to be epic.”

“You know I don’t like parties, Gary.”

“It’s not an actual party. It’s more of a gathering of sorts.”

“That sounds even worse. And who the hell are you getting to come? It’s not like I associate with anyone but Ren,” I remind him.

“Which reminds me, you need to make friends,” he tells me.

“Don’t need them. They only cause issues I don’t need.”

“I get that. How’s work?”

“It’s work. I still fucking hate it,” I reply, listening as he laughs once more.

“That’s why you’re doing it and not me.”

“It wouldn’t hurt you to pitch in, Gary. He was your dad, too.”

“Don’t remind me. And that isn’t my scene, Gannix. You can pull off that suit and tie shit, I can’t. I wouldn’t even want to try.”

“Doesn’t mean you can’t work here and help out,” I tell him.

“Yeah, it kind of does.”

“You’re a stubborn asshole.”
