Eventually, they leave, and we follow as Ryan drops all of his friends at their houses. He doesn’t try to drive us around in a loop, trying to lose us. I guess that he’s figured by this point that we already know where he lives, and there wouldn’t be that much point in trying to evade us. That, or he’s so on edge that he’s not thinking properly and just wants to get home to his false sense of security.
As he pulls into his driveway, another car now parked there as well, we slow down and drive past at a snail's pace, making sure that he gets one more look at us before Trick puts his foot down, and we speed up to the normal speed and head home.
“Well, I think that was a rather successful day,” Riot grins.
Rafe grunts in agreement and then signs, “Food?”
“Oh hell yeah, I’m starving. Let’s stop on the way back and pick something up.” Jensen agrees immediately and then eyes Rafe suspiciously, “You’re not hiding any more of those brownies in that bag of yours, are you?”
Rafe chuckles, shaking his head and signing “No.”
Jensen narrows his eyes, but obviously decides that it's not worth it to try and wrestle the bag off of Rafe, and that he could end up being on the receiving end of a punch if he does try, so he lets it go. However, he does glance at Rafe’s bag every now and then suspiciously like he’s contemplating whether a smack would be worth it. Rafe is more than aware of Jensen; but he just sits there with a smile on his face, looking highly amused.
We’ve just got our food and are back on the road again when my phone buzzes, and I pull it out of my pocket, reading over it quickly before I interrupt the conversation Riot and Luc are having.
“Guys, Trev just messaged me, he said, sorry for the late reply. I was trying to locate everyone; Billy is out of town until Monday, but the others are all together at a party they’re throwing at Lucky’s place.” I read it to them.
“Can you double-check that they’re all going to be there?” Trick asks me.
“Sure,” I reply and quickly type out a text. Trev replies immediately, “He says that they are, everyone apart from Billy. He then said, ‘this isn’t something that I want to know about, is it?’”
The guys chuckle, and Jensen says, “He’s his own worst enemy.”
“Tell him thanks,” Trick replies.
I nod and type out a reply.
Me:Thanks, man. We appreciate it. No, it’s not something that you want to know about. Stay out, man.
Trev:It's harder than I thought it was going to be; it turns out I kind of like it. You are right though, do me a favor and give me a smack if it looks like I’m stepping back in?
Me:You got it, man, don’t worry, we won't let you back.
Trev:Thanks.
“Alright, what’s the plan?” Luc asks, “I’m thinking that we want to get this sorted out before Billy comes back on Monday, they all pay more attention when he’s around and we’re less likely to be able to follow Boyd without being noticed.”
“Yeah, I think you’re probably right,” Trick agrees.
“So, we do what we planned to do then. Some of us go to the party and keep an eye on Boyd. Hopefully, he’ll prove us right or leave and lead us to somewhere significant, and the rest of us can go and check out that address since we want to get everything sorted and tied up with a neat little bow before Billy gets back on Monday,” Riot suggests.
Jensen shrugs, “That sounds good to me. I’ll go to the party, Cash and Luc, do you want to come with me?”
“Yeah,” Luc replies.
“I’m good with that,” I say and look at the others, “are you guys all good with going to the address?”
Trick nods, “Yeah. That sounds good to me. We should probably pick up our other cars from the yard, though; we don’t want any of our usual cars to be recognized and anything to be brought back to us.”
“Good point.” I agree, not having thought of that. “Are we going straight to the party and the address, or are we going home first?”
“By the time we get back to town, it’s going to be quite late, so we may as well just head straight to the yard, switch the cars out, and then head to where we’re supposed to be,” Riot suggests.
“Everyone is armed and prepared. We can at least get a look at what we’re dealing with, if there is anything at the address, and if Boyd leads us somewhere, which hopefully he will; otherwise, we’re going to have to come up with a plan B.” Rafe signs.
“Does anyone have an idea of what plan B could be?” I ask, since we should probably know what the backup is now, especially as plan A rarely ever actually works.
Jensen grins and says one word, “Kidnap.”
