“He proposed, and I said yes.” She shrugs her shoulders.

“Mindy! It’s been four months!”

“It feels right.” She shrugs again.

“Are you sure?”

She nods.

“Eeeeeee.” Now I’m the one squealing.

“Oh, yeah." She winces. "Never do that again.”

“I love Fernando for you. You guys are so cute and sweet. One-hundred percent good husband vibes.”

“Good, because he likes you too, and I didn’t really want to choose between a good dick and my best friend.”

Romeo:What about you? What do you do?

Astoria:I work in accounting.

Romeo:Ahh. MyMamacitahas the math smarts? Nice. Kiss. I have to go.

“Hey!” Mindy yells and I jump. “Pay attention, miss!”

I giggle. “Sorry. He’s just so cute.”

“Mm-hmm. And how was the dick?”

“Perfect! I mean, he was so nice about it.”

“Did you–” Instead of finishing the sentence, she nods and wiggles her eyebrows with a mischievous smile, then drags her teeth on her lower lip.

“Several times.”

“Finally!” Mindy raises her hand and we high five, laughing.

“Hey, will you come with me to buy some furniture? I’ve actually saved up enough money to get something.”

“Yes, of course,” Mindy answers.

It’s almost dinnertime by the time Mindy parks in front of my house and I get everything out of her trunk.

“Sorry, I have to go. Fernando and I already had–”
