“What are my friends doing here?” Snow asks through gritted teeth.
“I invited them. Well, I sent Keanu a message on IG asking to hang out with us.”
His eyes narrow. “You know I don’t want you around my friends.”
“I’m aware, but I also don’t care.”
He grabs me by the throat, pulling my face close to his. “Do I need to turn your ass black and blue?”
When he lets me go, I wink. “As long as your dick is inside of me, I don’t care what you do.”
I glance at Irvin and he’s wearing a Jason Voorhees mask, Keanu has on a killer clown mask, and Jameson chose Michael Myers. All of them are shirtless, wearing jeans. I can tell by the way their bodies are built, and the different tattoos, who is who.
I try to keep my eyes off of them because I don’t want to get caught ogling. They are too fucking hot. A group of women walk past us, staring at them, and they giggle like schoolgirls.
Lilac is dressed as a schoolgirl with pigtails, and when she spots me, she stretches out her arms, and I accept her embrace.
“I love your costume. You look so fucking hot.” She eyeballs me.
“You do too.”
Winter stands next to her, wearing a playboy bunny costume. “It’s been so long since we hung out. I was worried about you.”
“I’m fine,” I murmur.
Irvin removes his mask and looks at Lilac, licking his lips. He strides up to her, gripping her chin.
He looks her up and down, then his eyes land on her tits, before reaching her gaze. “Why haven’t you been answering my phone calls?”
“None of your business,” she snaps, turning her head to the side. “I don’t speak to men who are engaged.”
He yanks her by the hair, forcing her to look at him. She whimpers, her light brown skin tone turning slightly pink.
“I have no control over that,” he snaps. “You’re mine.”
She elbows him in the chest, and he lets her go.
“I’ll never be yours. I’ll never allow you to string me along and play second to anyone. So stay away from me.” Lilac loops her arms with mine, but he snatches her away again.
“I don’t want her; I want you.”
“People in hell want ice water, but they don’t have it.”
He chuckles. “Oh, princess. You belong to me. Once I figure out how to convince my father to break the engagement with her and marry you, you’ll be mine.”
“My parents wouldn’t force me to ma—”
He shuts her up with a kiss, and I tear my gaze away, glancing at Snow, blushing. Winter loops her arm through mine. Snow and his friends trail behind us and we decide to play some games and ride a few roller coasters. Snow wins me a few stuffed animals, and I eat all of his blue cotton candy.
The group want to break off and go to the maze.
“Lyrical and I have other plans.” Before I can respond, Snow grabs my hand and leads me out of the festival into the nearest woods.
“Run, Blue.”
My nipples peak and his words make desire grow in the pit of my belly. I run farther into the forest, and I hear my own pulse thumping in my ears. The icy-cold air nips at my face as I hide behind a huge bush, then I turn my nose toward the moist sky and inhale deeply. I hear footsteps approaching so I take off again, running deeper into the forest, tripping over a log. I get dirt in my mouth and spit it out.
“Surprise, Lyrical. You wanna play?” he taunts, the voice changer in his mask making him sound like Ghostface.
