I startle, but relax quickly as I glance at Bronson over my shoulder, standing in the bedroom doorway. “You have got to stop doing that,” I say.

He smiles, his eyes on the skyline, too. “Nice view.”

“I’m enjoying it. A little. While I can.”

His reflection behind me nods. “You can always come back here. Don’t need a douche like Monroe to give permission to treat yourself.”

I give him a smile. “Doesn’t really feel like me, though.”

“It could be.”

“Did anyone notice you sticking around?”

“Doubt it.”

“Are you still...” my lips twitch,“in the moodto stick around a little longer?”

“If you want me to.”

“I do,” I say. “Why wouldn’t I?”

Bronson pauses, a question clearly on the edge of his mouth. “No reason,” he says, the moment passing by. “What do you want to do?”

I take a breath, my eyes on that gorgeous skyline once again. “This might sound weird...”

His brow wrinkles slightly, but he says nothing.

I bite my cheek, feeling them blush. “I kinda wanna do it here,” I say.

“Here?”

“On the couch. So I can look through the windows.”

Bronson chuckles. “That doesn’t sound weird.”

“No?” I ask with relief.

“No.” He steps toward me, his hands sliding from his pockets and coming to rest on my face. “It’s not.”

Bronson kisses me softly; a kiss similar to the first we shared during the game, but leaves me no less tingling for more.

“I want you to do what you did to me on the bus,” I say, my skin aflame all over. “When you sat me on your lap and?—”

“Oh, I remember,” he says, silencing me with another kiss.

He pushes my jacket off my shoulders. I let it fall, hearing it pool on the floor at our feet as his arms curl around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

“Bronson,” I say. “We never kissed after prom.”

“I know. Just figured it’d be plausible enough if someone asked why we were so comfortable with each other.”

“Right. Yeah, no. That was really quick thinking.”

He kisses me again. “I should have, though,” he says.

My spine stiffens. “You think so?”

Bronson nods. “It’s like New Year’s Eve. Everyone should get kissed on prom night.”
