“You look happy,” Cade said. “Are you happy you’re having a boy?”
“I’m a little worried,” Mia admitted. “I know how to handle girls. A boy will be different.”
“It doesn’t matter what you have,” Tappn reassured. “I will be by your side through it all.”
“Oh, Tappn,” Mia said going on tiptoe to kiss him.
“Frannie looks unhappy,” Tappn said. He handed Joelle to Cade. He ordered Mia, “You stay here.”
“Mom does not like Frannie,” Mia said.
“How did she react when she found out this one is a boy,” Cade asked swaying with Joelle.
Tears gathered in Mia’s eyes. “She said, if I’d had a boy to begin with none of this would have happened,” she murmured.
Sheridan snorted. “I for one am damn glad you have Frannie. Frannie is amazing on her own. But without all the crap we went through, I wouldn’t have Cade and you wouldn’t have Tappn,” she said.
“Do you really feel that way,” Mia said.
“Yes,” Sheridan said putting her arm around her sister. “We’ve been lucky in our mates.”
“Your mates are lucky,” Cade said. “We get you.”
“Now you’ve done it,” Tappn said returning with Frannie on his hip. “You’ve made them both cry. You know what needs to happen now.”
“Sex,” Sheridan said through misty eyes.
“Lots of sex,” Mia said smiling hungrily at Tappn.
