“You aren’t,” Cade said. “You’ve sacrificed enough.”
“You’re spoiling me,” she said.
“Nope,” he said. “Not possible. You see my adorable lovely mate, you are my entire universe. Without you, I can’t breathe.”
“Cade,” she said softly. “I feel the same way.”
“Good,” he said.
“I want to be your partner,” she said. “I want us to be equals.”
“Can’t happen,” Cade said. He looked deep into her eyes. “You are so much better than me. You’re my goddess.”
She laughed, shook her head. “I’d rather be your partner,” she said.
“You don’t look out for you,” he said.
“Then tell me,” she said. “All of my money, all of your money. I’d rather it was our money. I’d rather we talk something over and come to a compromise. Did you take off the upgraded equipment you wanted to keep the increase to only eight percent?”
Cade sighed, “Caught that did you?”
“I know the numbers,” Sheridan said. “After we’re done eating dinner, we will call Calli and go through the options for a final time. We will decide together what should be upgraded and what shouldn’t be.”
“Yes, my goddess,” he said. “What will we be doing after we talk to Calli?”
“The table will change to the bed,” Sheridan said shoving a fork full of vegetables into his mouth. “When we’re done, I’m going to shove you on this bed and keep you busy until you beg for mercy.”
“Oh, god, I hope so,” Cade said.
Chapter 9
“The ship will be ready in about thirty days,” Calli said. “Got special plans for christening it?”
“Yes,” Sheridan said grinning.
“By the time the ship’s done, we’ll be done with our contract,” Cade said his arms around Sheridan.
“You’re a year ahead of schedule,” Calli said. She knew why.
“We’re taking the ship to a bunch of different places,” Sheridan said. “There are sites Cade wants to show me.”
“Unless he parks it somewhere for several months while he ravishes you,” Calli said. “He’s got the same look dad had before he whisked mom away.”
“We’re taking a year off,” Cade said. “There are things Sheridan’s never seen like the Hydromium Nebula or the falls on Numten XI’s northern continent.”
“The falls are beautiful and you can reserve a time to see them in private,” Calli said.
“Cade already has,” Sheridan said.
“It’s a six month wait,” Cade said.
“You’re going to need many alarms set so you remember to stop having sex,” Calli teased.
“Hey,” Cade said. “How old is your youngest?”
“She’s four months,” Calli said. “Why?”
“Are you pregnant,” Cade asked.
