Gwyn paced around his room. He left to do his duties two hours ago. The time before the ship left the station had been erotically amazing. More, he took time to take care of her. No one had ever done that. Even her mother put her clients first. Ulrik didn’t. He took care of her first unless little Ulrik was being overly demanding.
He told her to sleep but she was restless. Her stomach ached and she wanted him. With a sigh, she pulled out the bags of things delivered from the station. She spent time sorting clothes and trying some of them on. She knew what she planned to wear the next time he let her put clothes on.
Sorting through her crafting items, she got them organized and worried a little over taking up a second closet space. Would he be upset with her? Pulling out the bag with the toys in them, she tried to fit everything in one closet. It didn’t work. She looked at all the closet space. His clothes were a mess. She shook her head and took everything out of the closet. It made the most sense to have like with like. Biting her lip, she shrugged and risked him being angry. She spent the next two hours organizing and sorting out the closet space and their belongings.

On the bridge, Ulrik watched as she sorted and organized. He smiled knowing his things mixed with hers. He saw her hesitation and planned to make sure he appreciated her skills. Around him, the ship worked on automatic. They left the station, he signed reports and dealt with a standard departure.
The crew worked around him settling into the routine. He kept Gwyn on the screen so he saw her all the time. Doctor Shifleman stepped onto the bridge. “Captain,” he said quietly. “I’ve results from your mate’s exam.”
“She’s not available,” Ulrik growled.
“She is, but you would be annoyed if I approached her,” Doctor Shifleman said. “I’d like to make an appointment to speak with both of you.”
Ulrik realized he was being unreasonably protective of her. “Of course,” he said.
“I can handle the bridge,” Commander Plav Do said. “You could send a message for her to meet you in your ready room.”
“We’ll go to my ready room,” Ulrik said rising from his seat and led the doctor off the bridge. “Do you have a concern?” Worry tightened his gut and quickened his step.
“Captain, your companion has a right to privacy,” Doctor Shifleman said. “When she gives permission, I’ll share with both of you.”
As they stepped over the threshold of his ready room, Ulrik frowned, “Wait here.”
He hurried through the lounge area and into the bedroom. Gwyn sat drawing. “I thought you were on the bridge for at least eight hours,” she said smiling as she raised her face to him. He swooped down and kissed her. “It’s only been five hours,” she said.
“Five hours, fourteen minutes,” he said. “Too long to be away from you.”
“Ulrik,” she said. “What’s wrong?”
“Shit,” he grumbled. “You need to put clothes on. Doctor Shifleman wants to talk to us.”
“He got my results,” Gwyn said. She stopped before opening the closet doors. “I… I did something you may not like.”
“What,” Ulrik said putting his arms around her.
“I reorganized the closets and drawers,” she whispered. “I think things fit better but if you don’t like it, I’ll change it.”
“Are your clothes mixed in with mine,” he asked knowing the answer as he watched her make the change.
“Yes,” she said lowering her chin.
“Show me,” he said rubbing his hands down her arms.
She opened the closets and showed him. Stunned, he said nothing. “Do you hate it,” she asked.
“I’ve never been so organized,” he said. “My stuff is on the right and your stuff is on the left but like things are hung together. Did you color coordinate things?”
“Yes,” she said.
“It looks amazing,” he said. “I’m impressed.”
“Not angry,” she asked.
Turning her in his arms, he said, “I’m grumpy I can’t stay here with both of us naked. I’m not angry with you.”
“You want me in clothes to talk to the doctor,” she said.
