“He’s a better decorator than you are,” I taunted and felt my belly warm at the proud grin that Roman wore.

“You heard her say you suck, didn’t you?”

“I don’t know about all that, but I’ll give you this one.” His face turned serious. “But hey, I just wanted to know if you were coming home at lunch. I think I found something that might be useful.”

“You weren’t supposed to be working, you should be sleeping.”

Shaw snorted. “I’ve gotten plenty of beauty sleep. I’m going to kill that bastard, whoever he was.”

I don’t think anyone had to voice it, we all felt the same. “Can it wait until this evening? Home is sort of a drive in the limited time.”

“Yeah, I guess it can wait. I’ll keep digging in the meantime.”

“We have to clean up before the shop opens; you really should rest,” Roman instructed, and Shaw rolled his eyes. “I saw that, I’ll see you tonight.”

He clicked off and went to find a broom without even asking what I needed for him to do. My pocket buzzed and there was a message from Shaw. I pulled it out, clicking his name to open it and stared at the screen in confusion.

Thank you.
